I am 22, univ grad, working full-time as software developer, living in Midwest (USA). Came here really young, but very literate in Afghan culture/politics.
Okay I guess I can say how I found this place. I was searching for Taliban pics on google images, and some girl here had posted pics of Taliban saying they were cute. haha.

Welcome aboard.Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.
A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Welcome to the forums!"Do not lose hope in adversity and complain that God singled you out for punishment, remitting others guilty of worse sins. Your present state could very well be His intent to elevate your spiritual station. Or He could just be testing your faith. Everyday that you persevere, you grow closer to perfection. Thus, your present despair may be the beginning of an infinite blessing". - Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani.

Hmm software developing can be both fun and boring. Good money, but sometimes really boring if you are working on a boring project. I did web developing when I was a student, and that stuff was really fun. Then I thought QA (quality assurance) would be more fun and got a job in there, quit after a few months, really boring, now back to developing. I wish I could move to Cali to get a job with a company like google or something, but meh. Thinking about it now, I wish I had gone with my first choice, medicine. But this took 1/4 of the time med takes and good money and jobs.Guess I can live with it.Originally posted by JasmineHaha that's our member Pakhtoongal, she made that topic a while ago.
Tell us about Software developing, are you happy with your job? We aren't small! We are a happy community and you are part of us now.
Oh by the small I meant Wardak, lol. Such a small place yet I come across a Wardak everywhere I go.
