  • Hey! New Member here

    Sanga Ye

I definitely made an account before and then I had to wait or something and I forgot the information lol! Anyways, about myself: I was born and lived in Mianwali for 3 years before coming to Canada. My father is an ethnic Baraki/Burki (Ormur). I speak broken Ormuri, broken Pashto and broken Urdu, all good enough to have deep conversations but not to working efficiency haha. I know there is great debate to whether Ormurs are even Pashtun but who knows, various pashtun tribal groups have questionable backgrounds and I think I am a proud pakhtun so I might as well embrace it Interesting thing: It is said my family went from Baraki Barak, Afghanistan (origin of Ormur/Burki tribe) and settled in Kaniguram before going to India in 1700s where they made Basti's (little, racial exclusive villages with only their own tribe) and my family lived in a Basti till the partition of Indo-Pak. My mother is the daughter of a Mohmand businessman who had factories in India. I also have Mandokhel and Ahmadzai ancestory.
    Nice to meet everyone!

Welcome to PashtunForums. You had to wait a little bit, cause I've made the registration a bit more tougher than the past.

Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

No offense but i believe you are killzai. He's been making a lot of accounts here lately and he was commenting on that ormur thread a member opened. Its also odd and a bit of a coincidence that a member joins this forum who claims to be an ormur while they were being discussed on here not to long ago.

Seems like he must be a troll. What is his agenda? Thanks everyone for the welcome. I am sure the admin or someone can confirm I am not him. I will look for that Ormuri thread, maybe I will learn something about myself haha.

I most definitely am not, but you guys have me curious now. Is he Ormuri too? I have searched for his posts but nothing shows up except for what other people have posted on his behalf. Seems like a bit of a prick.

                    Welcome to the forum!

I was intrigued by the Ormuri people after I learned about Pir Roshan. I'm predominantly Mohmand too, so your mother and I may be very distant relatives!

Anyway, welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy your stay.
