  • I'm aktion. Greetings.

Once upon a time I was on an the university road in Kabul. I was carrying grocery from bazaar near the university. It was late in the evening, I noticed on the corner opposite the university a billboard advertizing Pashtu language classes. I loved to speak and write Pashtu, I loved to learn about Pashtun culture, I loved just to enjoy the feeling of being part of another culture.

I still remember that billboard. I Remember those walks along the university road. I used to walk a lot and I loved to walk back then... Now Its different, life has changed...

And yes, I joined this forum because of that memory. Pashtu is my favorite Afghan language that I don't speak.

    I'm aktion. Greetings.

      Welcome, Aktion.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

      -Ferishta, 1560–1620

All I have to say to Afghani snakes is:

God bless Bush, Obama, USA, NATO, USSR, Osama, Taliban, Ahmed Shah Massoud, British, ISI, Northern Alliance and whoever else kills Afghans everyday.

You may still try to learn the language you so much like. I had an American 80 years old in a language class. He was so keen to learn a foreign language that I got motivated and we both learned the language perfectly. It was really superb some one learning a language in that advanced age.
