Learning of any language include RPS(Receptive and Productive skills).
Receptive skills are Reading and Listening while productive skills are Writing and Speaking. Your problem is one productive and one receptive skill.

For reading and writing you have to start from alphabet. Then come the stages of syllables, words, phrases and sentences. The last stage is composition like essays etc. Please start from Alphabet and one day you will be at the final stage of Composition.

Just take the start and you wills see that within a month you will be able to read and write. For this you need a personal tutor or some one who can dedicate you time on line through Skype etc.

Millions of Pashtuns cannot read and write Pashto because except some cities like Kandahar, Pashto is not an official language and people do not feel the need to read it or write it.

Actually i know the alphabet, it's just the written grammer doesn't really make sense to me. I don't understand how you know what sound to give a letter if there is no zwar, zwair, or pesh.
