The pashtuns who came to India in 1800's like my ancestors have lost their language. So Almost all or most Pashtun Indians have forgotten pashto. There are Some Pashtuns who still speak pashto because they emigrated to British India recently in 1900's etc and there are also some recent Afghan immigrants to India.

Welcome brother, i would get a DNA test if i were you and trace your family's history and find out which tribe you belong too. If you are R1A positive, then you are most likley Pashtun.

          Welcome again bro.

pa khair raghley Pashtun wrora welcome Pashtun brother

I appreciate that the Pashtun blood in your veins is still alive. Everything can be changed but not genes and blood. Please join Basic Pashto course here and other Pashto related threads.

I will also suggest that you may form an Indian Pashtuns Association and may have get together events and may demand for Pashto chairs in Indian universities.

You know what brother,I just took a DNA test a month ago and found out that I have R1A but I took the test from ancestry.com and they only showed me that I am 86% South Asian and 9% Central Asian and 5% other like European and Melanesian. I think the South Asian group is a race which also includes Pashtuns because I searched on Google about South Asian+Pathan (Pashtun) and I came across some websites that showed me Pathan (Pashtuns) are also considered South Asian ethnic group in DNA database.
