I was visiting Pashto Academy Pehsawar for some research . I have lived on Chinar road University town for some time and in Hayat Abad. But I have been to almost all parts of Peshawar namak mandi, qisa khwani, sadar, Tehkal, dabgari, bada bera, Hazar khwani(Rahman abba shrine) etc. I love namakmandi and Charsi tikkas.
Its a beautiful city but now in shatters because of environmental pollution and terrorism. Also Pashtuns do not write Pashto on sign boards. Urdu is getting more popularity while Afghans prefer to write and speak in Dari to avoid the stigma of being Pashtun so that people may not attach them to Taliban or other extremists.
Pashto is my mother tongue.

once upon a time I was helping in opening a school there "3 two 5" and I used to walk all that way from my street. I used to live that time on the Old University Road, just behind the Aisha institute. After I shifted to Jamaluddin Afghani Road, and then - to Hayat Abad. And I always used to by my grocery from bazaar opposite KTH near the Spin Jummat. Often I used to go to enjoy late evening kawa from the center of qisa khwani or opposite LRH, and morning milk shake from the corner opposite Peshawar Club. I loved to walk in Khyber bazaar just to feel the atmosphere, I loved to drive around the city just without reason just to enjoy the feeling of being a part of it. Waking up every morning I felt extremely happy because of living there. I still remember the smell of Peshawari air and chilling air of winter on my skin. Remember those fields behind the Agricultural institute and sweet smell of flowers near Islamia college. I used to walk a lot in Peshawar and I loved to take a tanga drop inside town... Now I am different, city has changed too much with the time and under influence of the rest of Pakistan... and there are no horses and tangas anymore. At one point it is good - I always felt sad seeing those poor animals but I feel sad that I will not enjoy tanga on those streets anymore. And when I visited my Peshawar something like 2 years ago, University Town was almost swollen by foreigners. NGOs just rented out whole streets for their employees! Many roads there were blocked, many people whom I knew moved away.
