  • My "reality" (Warning, this is pure fiction) *Sarcasm alert*

Disclaimer: this is purely a work of fiction.

Only a true idiot will believe this, but according Tor_Khan, this is me:

I was born to "Mohajir" parents originally from UP, India who relocated to Karachi. As a young boy, I always wanted to be a "Pathan" and imitated their culture, accent, etc. I was fascinated by how different they are to us "Mohajireen and how brave, strong and virtuous albeit simple-minded they are.
I even disliked Indian food because of how spicy it was and always preferred less spicy food. I disliked music in the Urdu language in favor of Pashto music.
Through this music and through conversing with the "naukar log", I learnt Pashto at a young age and soon became fluent, all the while renouncing Urdu.

I later discovered a country called Afghanistan, which I read about extensively on the internet and decided to claim being from there. At first I decided to adopt a Pashtun identity but over time, I decided not to associate myself with Pashtuns, in favor of the more cultered Tajiks who spoke Farsi, the sweetest language of all - a remark I often heard from my parents and others in our community. I began to listen to Farsi music and picked up a few Farsi books, I eventually learned Farsi too. However I grew tired of this Urdu-like language which everyone kept praising.

But then I heard a different Pashto accent for the first time - the accent of Kandahar and was very impressed, it sounded just like French! What a beautiful and exotic language this is, I thought to myself and BANG! I became Pashtun again. I decided to carry on claiming Pashtun and tried desperately to link my ancestry to the valiant Pathan tribes but my parents were always angry at me for doing this, so I decided to totally abandon my "mohajir" roots in favor of my new found "Afghaniyat".

When I went to London, I found out that nobody like Afghans so I eventually (on the advice of my family members and close friends) decided to adopt a new identity, which one you ask? well, the ordinary "Asian" was a bit played out so I decided to be original. Suddenly, I heard the song "Gasolina by Daddy Yankee" playing on mtv, wow these people look just like us is what I thought. I spent the next few months googling south americans and started to learn spanish. Unfortunately i later found that this particular spanish that is spoken by daddy yankee's people is different from the standard, I made it my life's mission to learn how to speak puerto rican.
i achieved this dream by mimicking reggaeton artists. i succeeded due to my "mohajir" talent of learning languages which is very common amongst the "mohajirs" who are never comfortable with their selves and their Indic culture.

well now i'm here, at the mercy of the great pathans who everyone in south london despises, please go easy on me, im nothing but a dalkhor. i eat daal roti while pathans eat naan gosht. you are superior to us in every way.

i surrender to you o noble afghans of the internet. forgive me for trying to be one of you.

You 'succeeded' because there are no Puero Ricans in West Staines, England or pashtunforums.com who could have called you out. I have been around enough Puerto Ricans to know that you are not one of them, doesn't matter that you 'went to school in Pakistan where you learned to change your voice' LoL. I wouldn't be surprised if you hang out all over the internet pretending to be a Puerto Rican on obscure websites like PF that you won't find a single Puerto Rican.
