    Salaam all,

I'm Since1947. Am a silent reader for a very long time, thought it was time to join PF.
As some of you might have already guessed.. yes I am Pakistani. To make it even worse, for some, I am a Punjabi (Rajput) from the Pothwar region. Born and raised in the Netherlands, but now living in the UK.

Khair, I have been interested in anything related to Pashtuns for a very long time. Now that I recently got married to a Pakistani Baloch-Pashtun (originally from Quetta but a Karachiite through and through ) I thought it's about time to learn more about their history, culture and traditions. So heya!

I'm not here to provoke any sort of fight but, where it is necessary, I will obviously 'defend' my people or country when members tend to cross the line between expressing opinions and preaching hate.
If some want to throw ignorant hateful remarks, feel free to do so.

Oh and a belated Ramadan Mubarak.
    Pakistan Zindabad.
    Baz Washen Pakistan.
    Zama Khaista Watan Pakistan.

Welcome, and don't worry you won't need to defend your country, nobody here attacks the UK or Netherlands

There were some American users here who criticised the way people from the UK talk but they've calmed down for now. You have nothing to fear.

      Welcome to the forums.

                        Welcome.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

                        -Ferishta, 1560–1620
