  • I am back!!!

Hi. My name is Nima Khan Abdali and I am from Kandahar province. I am 21 years old. I am married and have a son, Davud Khan. I have BS and MS from Mathematics, and right now I am doing my PhD on Mathematics. I came across this forum yesterday and I decided to register. I hope that I will find good company here, which has not happened as yet, since I posted a message in a thread and I did not receive any notice.

If you ever feel ready to come near meeting me, I am here, and this is my story. In advance, I greet all of my fellow countymen, of Pashtunistan.

          Welcome dear Nima Khan!
Do you still live in Kandahar?

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Good man, I will be honest and blunt...based on what you have posted so far..I have doubts that you are from Kandahar or even Afghanistan...but of course I might be wrong.

So you are into Mathematics and you live in UK. My friend (an Iranian) has posed me this question - he has 8 pence (of money) and wants to give out these pennies to 2 needy Iranians (his good friends who are not doing so well in life) such that one Iranian gets 1 pence more than the other Iranian. Can he do this?

This is a really dumb question. Anyone whose done grade 3-4 math can answer this.

Thank you, Admin Khan. This forum is excellent.

My research is on Abstract Harmonic Analysis; in it we research on behaviours of some wavelets in some group characteristics. If, say, there is a function given, not provided any additional data, we have it in the form of Fourier Series, as it is in Classical Harmonic Analysis. Then we express it in terms of some groups.

OK, it is your problem, brother, what you believe and what you do not.

He has to give 4.5 to one and 3.5 to another.

I hope that this answer was satisfactory.
