      Where are you from originally?
You should expect that anybody here will be questioning your reason for learning Pashto.
Why? Because in the last decades Afghanistan has been used so much for internationall "games" interventions and so on....
So at least it would be reasonable to introduce yourself a bit better and Your interest in the language.
Surely even in that way it is not possible to rove You say the trouth, but at least with the time perhaps You can show honest intentions, so there will be surely people who will help You!
Also, as You live now in Frankfurt I think the best way is to try it there directtly with people living in Your region, as you can difficultly comunicate in the forum with oral conversations.

Me Personally I have also a big interest in learning Pashto language(I am Armenian, as You maybe won't know). But unfortunately even I cannot find time neither an institution accessible to me, where I could learn it in an accademic way(what would interest me).

Think at least that a person teaching You his language is opening You the heart of his nation, so that You hopefully are honest with Your intentions! Best greetings, Aliq
      Hallo Aliq!

I was born in Sovjetunion and came origin from Russia. My father is German and my mother is Russian. So Russian people did lots of bad things to my father's family and we never get an excuse. You're an Armenian guy, so you know what I mean.
It's really difficult to explain why I want to learn Pashto. I find some of the letters pretty cool and the language is for me exotic.
Can you explain why your favourite colour your favourite colur is? No! It's very difficult!
I asked some Pashtun but they couldn't help me unfortunately. Than I decided to try my luck here.
I know a Turkish guy who learns Russian language. I had never asked him why do you need Russian language as a Turkish guy/Moslem? When I find some good grammatic about Russian I send them immediatly him.
Do you live in Germany to? Which part of Germany? Maybe I can help you?

You can start learning from Lorenz. Grammar is perfectly explained by Shafeev (it should be in Kitabtoon). If you want, I can send you voice clips to Lorenz texbook. I have them in 2 dialects.
And good luck among few xenophobes here

will they use it against us and our people ?

          i hope you understand know.
          I understand you!
Some of moslems have done bad things to me. And I can't never get it back! But it's your fault? NO!
Such people on both sides try to exploit us for their aims. But without me.

I started with Lorenz but I had reached my limit and I'm not audodidactic. Thanks for the tip. I've got some stuffs about Pashto on my PC.
It would be greatful when you send voice clips to me.

It makes us happy, that other people favour our language, culture and we very welcome them if they have nothing wrong in their mind, and it makes us feel good to help others.

We very appreciate anyone learning pashto (foreigners, pashtuns).
I have nothing to add, agree with You mostly. I think if a person learns not only how to speak your language but same time learns your culture and people, he won't be an enemy, at least for me it is difficult to immagine.

                  Hallo

Well, I know also soviet history, I think you won't find a family in SU that didnt suffer, that belongs to almost all its nations, and Germans werent an exception. Stalind did his cruel work on almost evey nation inside SU and outside of it.
concerning the language, language is an instrument, so except its sound motly you will learn to communicate and understand the people, so firstly your interest should e for the Pashtun people you want communicate or perhaps lingustic reasons(for me at least both are the reasons).
About what Yold about the Turkish guy...
Well, smaller nations or nations that are in difficult situations tend to form a deffensive mecchanism against straingers, that is selfprotection.
I do not live in germany , but about 10 years ago I've used to live there, to be more detaild in your aerea, I have had there many friends from Afghanistan. If You go to Frankfurt near to the Hauptbahnhof there is an Afghan Shop(I think its Muenchener Str.), ask them perhaps they can help You in where there are lessons of Pashto or some cultural events?!
The community is quiet big in Frankfurt and close cities, so surely there will be some interesting things you can learn.

But first think, that a language is not a colour but a serious instrument and knowledge and the bridge to the culture of one nation.
concerning the letters, You can find quiet similar letters in many different languages(Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, Uyghur are some examples), as they derive from Arabic script with sme more letters for the sounds Arabic has not.
Here You can learn perhaps You can learn a bit about Pashtun culture and than decide if You have really interest to study Pashto, as supposedly You will use the language to communicate with the pople who speak the language!

Buy the way, May I ask You, if it is not to personal, which place of ex SU are You from? Mostly Germans lived in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Altay, Saratov as I know.

                        You sound fake.

If you wanna learn Pashto, enlist at the University of Hamburg. They have Pashto courses at the Department of Iranistic.

                        Stop bothering people.

If you want, I will write these sentences in German for you because you said your English is poor.
                        The only constant is change.

I understood what you said! But you can repeat it for me in German! It's better for me to communicate in Grman than in English.
I need few hours with the train to Hambug!

Why do you think I'm fake? Is it that because I'm from Russia and I don't hide it? Do I bother people here? Where?
