What should I tell? I live in Germany and would like to learn Pashto. I asked some Pashtuns to help me. But they are not interested in it and I know more of their language than they do. I speak fluently German and Russian. My English is very bad, so sorry for my English. I'm here because I want to learn Pashto and communicate with people who maybe help me. I can maybe help with German and Russian. I need a little bit to understand this page. Thanks for your help!

So you are lucky speaking German and Russian. So far the best manuals for Pashto are in those languages

Thanks for your words! I started with Pashto few month ago. At the moment I don't have any time, unfortunately. That's why I forget lots of things. But in few month I'll have hopefully more time to concern myself with Pashto.

My intention is to learn Pashto. I love exotic languages. To learn a foreign language is always an enrichment.

This sentence makes me really sad. I know pretty well the different between language, politik, ethnic group and religion. I have NEVER said Pashtun=Taliban. I know very good what Russian have done in Afghanistan and still do in Caucasus especially in Chechnya. I give you my hand and you spit into my face. Why do live lots of Pashtuns in Russia and USA? Lots of Pashtuns are not interested in their own language. I would like to learn Pashto and you treat me like that?

Can You tell a bit more about You?
I know as well both languages You know.
Where are you from originally?
You should expect that anybody here will be questioning your reason for learning Pashto.
Why? Because in the last decades Afghanistan has been used so much for internationall "games" interventions and so on....
So at least it would be reasonable to introduce yourself a bit better and Your interest in the language.
Surely even in that way it is not possible to rove You say the trouth, but at least with the time perhaps You can show honest intentions, so there will be surely people who will help You!
Also, as You live now in Frankfurt I think the best way is to try it there directtly with people living in Your region, as you can difficultly comunicate in the forum with oral conversations.

Me Personally I have also a big interest in learning Pashto language(I am Armenian, as You maybe won't know). But unfortunately even I cannot find time neither an institution accessible to me, where I could learn it in an accademic way(what would interest me).


Think at least that a person teaching You his language is opening You the heart of his nation, so that You hopefully are honest with Your intentions! Best greetings, Aliq

I do have some hatred towards Russians,but just those people from east (including Romania,Poland,Russia,Serbia) who have themselves hatred toward muslims and what things they have done in the past (from destruction of afghanistan over racism and attacks against muslims in their countries) they make me sick for what they are doing,verily not all,but some,there for im very suspicious about anybody from this block or any other foreigner except for muslims,when they are learning pashto.

will they use it against us and our people ?

They are same,every foreigner.

We are suspicious even of yasmeenah for what purpose she is learning pashto,we pray to Allah she is not learning to use it against the pashtun people.
It makes us happy,that other people favour our language,culture and we very welcome them if they have nothing wrong in their mind,and it makes us feel good to help others.

We very appreciate anyone learning pashto (foreigners,pashtuns).
