Hello everyone, I joined here cause I saw it on facebook by a member named Pashtunyaar Niazi, He had linked this board and upon first visit I was shocked that such a marvelous, active and great community of Pashtuns existed.

I am really busy, I am working on my Masters degree. But I shall be reading and will also be commenting when necessary. I wish to be a biomedical engineer.

That is all I can share, yes I am a woman.

Really? That is nice. I must say I owe it all to Pashtunyaar Niazi...I feel like messaging him/her to thank him/her but the profile has no message option.

              Welcome to the forum, Amna!
Wow, a Pashtun female going into biomedical engineering! Excellent choice, girl! It's ALWAYS so refreshing to see Pukhtun women pursuing higher studies You just made my night. Khwdey de hamesha khushala lara, guley!

Muslimah's kinda right, btw We ladies do own this place

As for the person Pashtunyar Niazi, I'm not sure if it's the same person as Mr. Niazi here. I was wondering the same thing, as I've seen his posts in Pashtun groups on Facebook, broadcasting the link to PF. He does need a big thanks from us!

                    Thats a good question

Thanked you can click on the bottom right corner of someones comment in a thread if they say something you find "thankable"
Thanks..i think thats when they POST a thread...then they are getting thanks for posting something useful.

At the bottom of every post, you'll see something that says "Thanks." (In Pashto, it's written as "Manana.") Most of us give that to people we either agree with, or we like their posts. You can compare it to the "like" feature on FB. "Thanked" means someone thanked you; "Thank" means you can thank someone.... I know, it makes sense. lol

Nope. Its not me. But I think I know who it is. I could obviously be wrong. Nevertheless, whoever it is I highly appreciate it. If you are reading this, Thank you very much for your efforts.

                              Shlombay, Thank you as well.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
