I'm an Italian with a long interest in Afghanistan, from the time of the Soviet invasion. At the time, it was my ambition to help the Afghan resistance by the use of my pen--by publishing comments in the European press, in the attempt to influence opinion. That's basically what I'm still trying to do, in the present struggle to help Afghanistan regain real independence, national sovereignty, genuine political freedom and self-determination.

^ Good comment !
Carlo,
I'd like to hear more about your interest in Afghanistan.
How did it get started ?
By any chance did you ever meet any Italian journalists involved
with the effort against the Soviet occupation ?
I knew a couple of them. But chances are that you may not have run into them.
And yes, please do pray for the success of today's brave fighters
against even worse odds than they faced against the Red Army.
And do your best to write about it anywhere possible to wake Europeans up !
They seem not interested at all, is that right?
Tell us more. Did you travel to Afghanistan in the old days ?
You are very welcome here indeed.

In questi giorni sto imparando e facendo pratica di lingua italiana. Potete per favore aiutarmi e gli altri a migliorare il nostro italiano?

Welcome.Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.
A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
