Hello All
I am trying to research the First Anglo-Afghan War of 1839 - 1842, specifically the early part of the war when the British marched from Kandahar, through Ghazni to Kabul in 1839.
As well as any general info I am trying to find out information on the Governor of Ghazni at the time, who I believe was the son of Dost Mohammed and named Ghulam Hyder Khan. I think he was very young at the time he was Governor, perhaps early 20s.
To anyone who can give me any links or information I would be grateful. I have exhausted the usual Wikipedia links. Great website by the way and some interesting history threads on here.
Many thanks,
Researcher
