I can surely answer all those questions. PM me or open another thread. I have already posted two off-topic posts on this thread and I am not going to post a third one and probably bring an Indo-Pak conflict over here.

The only reason India has progressed is because they were ruled by the British and they built institutions in India so the indians can be used to build the infrstructure for the british empire, not just in india but also in africa and south america. the british exported many workers to other parts of the britsh empire to have them work and build. India was the biggest economy in the world in 1832. Many indians were rich during this time.
Fast forward to today, India is on track to be one of the biggest economies in the world again. They are still building infrastructure for the west. They are the main people that are building the IT infrasrture for the west. For the past 200 years Indian have been the workers for the west. India has always been called the crown jewel of the british empire because of the huge population it has. It was the biggest asset in the british empire.

Though India does a owe a lot to the British rule and its institutions, I dont think we should take anything away from the people of the country themselves. The British also did a lot of harm. Religious divides were deepened, local industry and craftsmanship were neglected and the industrial revolution was delayed. But all things said and done, India wouldnt have existed as we see it now, if it wern't for the British.

          Khushal,

A man likes a woman. She is beautiful. He kidnaps her. He rapes her repeatedly, till he gets tired. The woman gets pregnant. She raises her child through all kinds of drudgery and hardships. Educates and teaches him to be hardworking and honest. Today the child has grown into a handsome IT executive.

She wouldn't have had the child if not for the man. Should she or the child be grateful to him ?

A crude analogy, but IMHO an apt one.

          Regards,
          Drona

That word isnt Greek to us Indians either. Why dont you try and explain the term with respect to India's colonizations and her subsequent rise? Lets have a discussion.

It means that Indians are unaware of the word Ghairat. They do understand its meaning as with other values.

i personally feel Kashmir should be set free.. they will understand only when other neighboring countries will pounce on Kashmir....China must be just waiting for such a chance......

they want freedom, independence, i have a Kashmiri friend who told me that 'we want freedom from u' and i was shocked at this statement....

on what basis do they want freedom????????? Kashmir is not self sufficient in anything at all......only if J and K highway gets blocked for a few days everything goes for a toss........

Kashmir is Integral part of India and we are not going to liberate that. Our all rivers coming from there, which are lifeline of fertile lands of Punjab, haryana, himachal, and some part of rajsthan. So we can't harm more than 150 million just for the sake of at most 3 million valley's freedom seeker(If you assume all of the valley is Anti- India which is not).
All Shias, Gujjar,Bakarwal,Sikh,Pundit are pro-India only Kashmiri Sunni muslim are Anti-India.

you talking abt the past Sher Khan.....Tourism will prosper only when people come, people will come only when all these mis happenings end.. which dont seem to....

have u been to Kashmir???????????u dont know to what extent the Saffron and Almond farms are destroyed wrora....i have been there recently and i know the rate of unemployment there....less people employed in services.....and many in services are not in Kashmir, they are outside Kashmir, either in Delhi or some other state...

and Kashmir is a state not a country.........
