  • What would I be?

I've been browsing these forums for a while when I'm bored and I've specially made an account for a question that's just occured to me.

There's millions of older teens like me living in England/USA and I'm just curious as to what we would be. It's quite confusing.
Let's use me as an example.

Me and my father were born in England, my mother in Norway. My grandmother and great grandmother ( and say one or two generation further of my ancestors) was born in Pakistan. We rarely go back. I'm a Pashtun ( and apparently on my mother's side there was a Hazara ancestor a long time ago) The only nationality I hold is British.
So what I and the others like me call ourselves ethnically?
And would I class my self as of Afghan descent and consider that to be my nation or would I consider Pakistan to be?

I think this just highlights an interesting point and highlights those almost in 'limbo'

Do you mean historically as lineage is derived from the fathers side? Or did you mean that to omit my mother since she's got say 10% ( if that) hazara blood in her?

      Thank you

Aha my other part meaning say that Hazara ancestor which would make me say 1% hazara or do you mean being British?
I call myself Afghan/Pashtun. Though calling me self afghan does sometimes get looks from a few Tajiks. And British nationally. My whole family is from birth British....I guess the point I wanted to make was where do we say were from. Afghanistan or Pakistan?

i know so many muslim men who married russian women in their younger days. one man even cried once in front of me because his daughters were out of control and he couldn't do anything about it.

You cant be mixed Hazara, mixed this and mixed that to be Pashtun. Pashtun is Pashtun. if your father is Pashtun then your Pashtun. If your from one of the tribes of Pashtuns then your a Pashtun. The region from which your ancestors came from is a very mixed region so you could be anything you want.

                        Kind Regards

Ah thank you I consider myself full pashtun but do sometimes say Pashtun with a bit of Hazara mixed in. Just cause I like to acknowledge it sometimes.

About being mixed this mixed that? Do you mean in regards to ethnic groups in Afghanistan. Or mixed anything. My cousins are mixed race pashtun and norweigan/ white/ some are arab and are proud of being pashtun but also proud of their other halves and acnknowledge and point them out.
