I don't like Abdali but this is good research work and critical analysis.

    Well done.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

Why don't you like him? His descendants I understand, but the only people I've ever seen hate on him are Punjabi Sikhs and Hindus for conquering them.

Abdali's rule sent Afghans into a spiral that lead to the situation we see today.

But you can’t blame him for the mistakes of everyone that came after him. When Ahmad Shah Baba came vegan his campaigns, Afghanistan had just been ravaged by Nadir Afshar. When he passed away, it was the most powerful empire in Central and South Asia. Is it his fault that almost everyone that came after him made the situation worse?

They started before Daud, but yeah I don’t see how you can blame Ahmad Shah Durrani for what’s happening today.

                He worked for Nadir Afshar

I don't blame him for what happened today, but the establishment of the monarchy was what set us down the path that eventually lead to the catastrophes that ensued. Perhaps we could argue that this stretches back even further with the fact Afghanistan had been butressed between the Mughals and the Safaviyah. Regardless his rule established a royal class that greatly shifted the Afghan social fabric and put us at the mercy of later foreign interventions.
