There are half a million Pashayi in Afghanistan. They are Dardic people, predominantly Sunni Muslim, whose ancestors were Buddhists and Hindus. Pashtu has become their second language after Pashai. i have noticed that starting from Afridis and Karlanis , major part of Dardic Race have been Pashtunised by invading Durrani and Abdali pashtuns.

There is no proof that Ormuris/Barakis are of Dardic origin. They are a Pashtunized people, but they also have an East Iranian origin similar to the Pamiris.

"Afridi" are Karlani Pakhtuns. Panini, the Sanskrit scholar calls them "Aprits".
