  • Origins of Bahmani Sultanate ?

i have seen many pathans claiming that these guys (royal family) were pashtuns who migrated to Southern India.

but i can not see any Pashtun tribal name here,

some even claims that family was from Brahmin stock, henceBahmani name (Brahmani-Bahmani ?)

History of the Bahmani Sultanate - Wikipedia

can anybody tell me what is origin of Bahmani Family ?

pashtun origin is strange as i dont think brahmans taught non Aryan(muslim/Mellechas by that time) people. and why would an afghan will adopt name of his Hindu Brahman teacher when even hindu students never did this in history of vedic civilization ?

Oh bhai its Bahman, not Brahman. The real name of the founder was Hasan and he adopted the title of Bahman Shah by claiming descent from Persian king by name of Bahman (Isfandyar's son). The Brahman non-sense is in the Tarikh-i-Ferishta, not mentioned by another source. An earlier Deccani source on history of Bahmanis by name of Burhan-ul-Maasir does not mention the Ganju episode at all. Ferishta himself says that he was surprised that so many stories and tales existed about the Bahman family in his time and out of it he preferred the Gangu story.

One of the authority (written in 1602) calls him "Kakuyah" which connects him with royal family of Kakuyids which ruled Isfahan and Hamadan , a section of which later settled in Ghor and Ghazni because their principality had been placed under protection of Mahmud of Ghazni.

Pashtuns have not even heard about Bahmani dynasty let alone claiming it to be their own. You have read my thread on historium and jumped to "many Pathans claim".....i mentioned his predecessor Ismail Mukh Afghan to be a Pashtun.
