All their political knowledge is limited to conspiracy theories, political demonization and contradictions. No logic, no reason.

Flatlands have feudal structure relationships. In such social structures, power and control distribution is vastly unequal and is mostly with the ones who has the "sword" or "gold,"Originally posted by Kakar-Wardak View PostSo I know pashtuns mostly from settled flatlands of Peshawar and surrounding areas did serve in British army, but i was wondering why they would want to serve the occupier?
The hill people have different social relationships where power and control is essentially diffused throughout the society. They are more or less equal as far as community decision making is concerned.
Its easy for invaders to buy or assert control in the flatlands since they only have to deal with the feudal lords or khans while in the hillside, they have to deal with each individual separately to buy or assert control on them. It's basically buying control at wholesale(flatlands) or retail(hillside) price which is why the hill people were rebellious and the flatlands were more obedient since the relationships did not change that much for flatlanders.Last edited by khushal; 09-17-2017, 09:38 PM.
