So i have a Kashmiri brahmin Friend whos surname is Durrani. According to him they used to work under Durrani Kings so durrani mings gave them this title. after little reaserch i found out that his story s true. And both Hindu and Muslim Brahmins of Kashmir use Durrani Surname.

Can tmyou tell me what kind of work these brahmins used to do under Durrani kings ? And how you guys view these People (Muslims)? According to my friend some muslim durranis claim Kashmiri-Pathan/Bhatta-Pathan or Brahmin-Pathan title or heritage.

dude, they were office clerks. Its just a nickname. no point in asking Pashtuns here, they havnt got a clue, and Brahmins are same as Indian Dalits to them.

All the office work, clerical job, and the job of collecting taxes in Kashmir was done by Hindus in the service of Afghans.

oh i see... they were mere nobles of the Durranis, my friend claims that they were warriors who fought with durranis lol !

To any normal Pashtun in the streets of Pashtunistan, he/she never heard of those so-called 'durranis'

All the Durranis (proper Afghan national Durranis) I have come across don't use Durrani as a surname. Instead they use the name of their subtribe or clan ie Barakzai, Saddozai, Popalzai, Ishaqzai, so on and so forth. I have come across on TV one or two Pakistani politicians (I think) who use Durrani as a surname. Of course, I don't believe they can speak a word of Pashto.
