  • Jihad of Balochs against Sikhs (excerpts from Jangnama)

    Mir Nasir Khan, the ruler of Kalat , was the patron of Nur Muhammad Kalhora, the author of Jangnama , written in 1764 AD . The English translation is done by a Sikh who are not exactly reliable in doing honesty with historical sources. So some of the wording in English might not be exactly like the original Persian and the translation might be done with a bias of Sikh.

    Mir Nasir Khan hears about Sikh raid on Derajat ;

    Jihad is declared against Sikhs after counseling with Ulema. A letter is also dispatched to Ahmad Shah Abdali about the sitaution

    Ahmad Shah Abdali's response to the Khan of Kalat ;

    Mir Nasir Khan assembles his Baloch army ;

    Nasir Khan arrives in Dera and kills a man-eating crocodile there

      A Patti chief (?) joins army of Mir Naseer Khan at the banks of river Jehlum and the two moves to Sahiwal , which is mentioned to be a Baloch city of Punjab. From there they arrives , with forced marches, at Chiniot after crossing river Chenab

      To get an idea of these rivers in Punjab, see this map

      When Balocch army arrived at Chiniot, they found it to be in ruins, buildings razed and mosques desecrated by the Sikhs

      Location of Chiniot in Punjab

      The two friends and brothers in arms, Mir Naseer Khan and Ahmad Shah Abdali meet each other at Eminabad (Gujranwala district)

        The original is actually in poem form ....i dont know whats exactly its called in literature.

        It should have been translated in English poetic form but the Sikh translator had perhaps no talent for it nor actually he wanted to. This is the only source which actually praises Sikhs at one point and calls them "lions", so the translator did not want it to be dismissed as poetic exaggeration by historians.

        The reason why i have criticized the translator , is because not only he has omitted lot of words from the original but has changed the meaning of many words to give it a certain vibe and tone. This so called Sikh historians often do. In the very first scene, in which Khan of Kalat receives news of Sikh raid on Dera, he is called "Aadil-i-zaman", Hatim-i-zaman", "Asfandyar-i-Jahan" etc and his people are called "Shairan" (lions) within the very first lines, and keep on praising them a lot........the translator omits all of this poetic exaggeration but keeps the poetic cursing of the Sikhs by the author, and in the footnotes protests over the language used against them.....

          Mir Nasir Khan and Ahmad Shah Abdali reaches Lahore. Mir Naseer Khan pays a visit to tombs of Mughal emperor Jehangir and Nur Jahan ;

          Ahmad Shah Abdali holds a council of war at Lahore and ask for suggestions from his sardars. Mir Naseer Khan expresses himself in the council ;

          Battle with a large force of Sikhs happens.

          Chieftains of Magsi and Buledi tribes of Balochs of the advance party, attacks the Sikh army which is taken aback. The Buledi chieftain and his son are killed in the thick of battle ;

          Main force of Balochs, led by Mir Nasir Khan himself, arrives. The Raisani chief performs feats of bravery against Sikhs and is wounded in the battle

          The daring Mir Naseer Khan falls upon Sikhs with just a sword. He attacks a Sikh leader 'Charhtu' (Charhat Singh, grandfather of Ranjeet Singh) but the latter runs away from him. He gets shot but luckily survives ;

              I think it might be an epic but that's usually a term used for fictional work. I think there is no exact equivalent in English.

                  The credit goes to the French and Italian generals who trained and educated the hair bag Sikhs. Sikhs owe everything to the French for their victories and puny kingdom of Ranjeet Singh that last only a few decades before it was wiped out by the British, never to return again. Now Lahore is part of Pakiland and Sikhs are relegated to being the jokers of Indian society. Even their Golden Temple was attacked and looted by fellow Indians in 1984. That is more barbaric.

                  For thousands of years puny Bundjabis have been invaded, looted, conquered and ruled by foreigner. Now Black on Black crime is the norm in Pakiland and India.

                    Sikhs are 33% of Indian army, hardly jokers of India. Beside military they also dominate Bollywood Directing and Music Indistry. Sikhs get more respect in India (due to their History and Impressive physique) than baloch gets in Pakistan despite being half Iranic.

                      Sikhs are punjabies with turbans, there is nothing special about them, it's just that Hindus don't like fighting so they put these willing fanatics on the frontline, whilst they direct them from the HQ.
