BarakzaiAbdali is a good member, but he sometimes says things I find questionable regarding the Taliban, their merits and how the Afghan public perceive them. But that's neither here nor there. My response here was to Karachi when before he became a Bacha Bazi obsessed hezakOriginally posted by ZarakDurrani606 View PostBarakzai Abdali?? Not nima khan abdali is it
Nima Khan Abdali is a dork who got thrashed when he tried to encourage white nationalist/supremacist drivel here.
Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

Aryan is just a designation for Indo-Iranian people. The first mention of Aryan (Arya) was in the Vedic period, since then it's been used by Iranian emperors like Cyrus to refer to their lineage. In the linguistic community it refers to people who speak Indo-Aryan or Iranian languages. Thus anyone who speaks any of them as a mother-tongue can identify as such. I find this self-designation is more common among Iranians and Hindu-Indians than Pakistanis.
Even if Aryans were once a unified race it's not the case anymore. Neither Iranians, Afghans, Tajiks or Indians are pure; after 2500 years no one can expect to be pure anything. In fact I don't even think we could tell what the real Aryans looked like.

Do any group in India actually refer to themselves as descended from Aryans?Originally posted by Porus View PostAryan is just a designation for Indo-Iranian people. I've met Kashmiris, not just Hindus but Muslims who claim Aryan lineage. There's also a community in Ladakh called 'Brokpa' although they're mostly Buddhists.Originally posted by One1 View PostDo any group in India actually refer to themselves as descended from Aryans?
I'm sure a lot of Indians do, also the name 'Aryan' is common in India. Aryan descent is less common since 'Arya' is used to mean 'noble' rather than a race. All North Indians and Eastern Pakistanis are Indo-Aryans culturally.
