I do think Pashtuns were probably Buddhists. Don't think they were Hindus though.Originally posted by Karachi View PostGhandarans were buddhists and hindus, are you telling me pashtuns were buddhists and hindus? no way in hell, pashtun culture is very different from natives of the land. majority of Hilly Rajputs are the product of these cross breeding and want to disassociate with their past. rajputs with rajwadi surnames consider themeselves superior but those native kings who look darker gets mocked as "gola" (mix breed, son of rakhile) so they actually invite light skinned rajputs and kshatriya tribes from Jammu region such as jamwals to sleep with their women so that their wives can give birth to pure white looking Native Child.

Time of land grabbing/claiming has passed. Thats all I was trying to say. Gandharans, etc. had nothing to do with modern state of India, when IT was located in some Northwest Pakistani Region populated by people who were probably like Hunzas, Kashmirs, etc.Originally posted by Indian bossDon't join two different sentences stupid there is thing called". Dot" which is used to separate sentences.
Now don't get butthurt over me posting crowd picture of Indians (actually they are Paki Punjabi). Thats how Indians do Look, nothing wrong with IT, unless you yourself think so. (Which seems to be the case since you got butthurt and started posting pics of afghans to "counter attack" lol)

That might be true but that was in the deep past and there aren't many traces of Hinduism in modern KPK. But I don't care about what religion we Pashtuns were in the past as now we are proud Muslims.Originally posted by Indian bossHalf knowledge is very dangerous. The Buddhism came to Gandhara only after mauryan emperor ashoka converted to Buddhism. So, what was the religion of Gandharis before ashoka's conquest ? Its Hinduism the religion followed by ashoka's predecessor like pāṇini, aterya, charaka, chanakya(godfather of mauryan king) and Pingala.

Do I need to post pics of what India looks like (a trash can/dumping yard, people ****ting everywhere, bathing in sewer water, etc.)?
Your only ecconomic advantage is having 1 billion population, like China. Thats all. Lol

When did I say that Pashtuns are native to the Peshawar Valley?Originally posted by Indian bossYou are proud Muslim now but you were not proud Gandhari back then
.The first afghan settlements can be traced back to 11th century AD when Dilazak tribe of Afghans from Karlanri division migrated from astern Afghanistan and settled in the plain of Peshawar by crossing Khyber. As I said earlier the pashtun begin settling in Peshawar valley only after its conquest by Mahmud ghazni. Its hard to digest that you guys are not native to Peshawar valley

What is this BS. Lol. There is no proof of anything you say.Originally posted by Indian bossI don't claim any of your lands now am just fighting for my fellow indic hindkowan's history And I will make sure the history of Gandharis/hindkowans/Punjabis are not theft like the way there lands were theft. As you see ur fellow afghans are now claiming the history of occupied lands .Am fighting for history and cultural rights of ancient Gandharis(hindkowans/Punjabis)
Gandharans were a hell of a Lot time ago.
This is what their statues Look like:

Looking at these, no wonder Eur,ocentrists want to claim them. Lol
They were probably like Hunza people and some Kashmir populations, the population closest to the ancient region.
Hunza people:

Buddism was practised as far as ancient Bactria and Sogdia. Buddism is no proof of "Indianness". Just like Islam is no proof of people being Arab race.
Bactrians:

You want to talk about masters? Mahmud e Ghaznavi, Nadir Shah, all the Mughal Emperors, Ahmad Shah baba..... the list goes on and on. The souls of your ancestors must tremble when they come across these names. LOL. You really want to talk about masters? Slavery has been hardwired into your DNA Apu.
Pathetic race of people. You have no redeeming qualities. No respect on any social scale. Doesn't matter about your economy you are internationally recognised as a subservient race and laughed at.

You know, this forum would be a lot better if every single thread didn't devolve into "Indics are the best/Indics are the worst" slapfights. This forum isn't even about Indians, and yet it's full of Indians fighting with Pakistanis, and Pashtuns fighting with both.
On topic, there's no hard evidence that Sh dialect is older than the Kh one, and even if it were, there's zero evidence that both dialects didn't already exist at the time of Herodotus. So it is completely conceivable that the Pactyans were Pashtuns, or proto-Pashtuns, given the similar names and geographical location.
As for the Gandaharans, they definitely spoke an Indic language and were culturally Indic, thus they were likely Indic. But it should be noted that they existed a long time ago, and the Iranians and Indo-Aryans weren't as different then as they are now.
Also, following an Indic religion doesn't imply racial Indic-ness. Buddhism is followed by many non-Indics after all. But, the pre-Islamic Pashtuns were most likely either Zoroastrians, or sone form of pre-Zoroastrian Iranian pagans that were influenced by Zoroastrianism. This is pretty clear from the remnants of Zoroastrianism influence within our language, and the total lack of any Buddhist or Hindu influences.

It's pre-Islamic, so the writing very well could've been some Indic script. Doesn't imply anything about ethnicity. Surprising nobody spotted this super basic thing right there.
There's probably Gandharan and Hepthalite admixture in Pashtuns of that region.
Why does this website trumpet the idea that Mahmud of Ghazni changed the demographics or something. Anyone care to cite? I know he converted the people, and caused a fair bit of destruction... but that is far from the demographic change some here claim. As if the population was wiped out and replaced... doesn't seem like this claim is backed up anywhere.
Reference to Pactyans is definitely valid, as we know the northern dialect is original, and Pactyans was just the most likely translation of "Pakhtuans" given the limited written and archeological records.
