Even though I don't generally like your "cherry picked" approach to history. This is actually really good work and good quality references. I commend you on this.
The last book; is a gold mine. I need to get it.

Pashtuns have only adopted last names recently
BUT Sad'at have always historically used their laqab since they're not Afghan in origin.
