history of khetrans: Pashtun or Baloch

our grandfathers told us that we are pashtuns and belong to tor-tareens but people in balochistan(especially Balochs) think that we are Baluch

Makhzan-i-Afghani of early 17th century mentions them as a tribe of Pashtuns , cousins of Miyanas, Lunis, Jafars etc but it seems they undergone heavy intermixing with Jats and Balochs and lost their language, culture and Pashtun traits. British have wrote about origin of Khethrans, i will post it whenever i get the chance. If you are asking about nowadays, they are politically part of Baloch nation and phenotypically they are akin to Jats.

Some of the neighbours of Khethrans have partially become Balochized but do not politically identify themselves with Balochs due to bad history. For example Jafars speak Jatki like Khethrans and culturally they are quite Balochized but identify themselves with Pashtuns.

Khetrans are neither Pashtuns or Balochis, they are they're own people with their own language; The Khetrans who speak Khetrani, an indo-Aryan language.

The Khetrans however between the Afghan and the Baloch have preserved their identity and their peculiar Indian dialect (of the Sindhi type) to the present day.[4]

however other khetrans living in Balochistan except Barkhan call themselves Tareen
