Pashtuns in Herat

Anyone im know about the history of Pashtuns in Herat. Some of the stuff i know are Ahmad Shah Baba was born in Herat and there where Durranis in Herat during the Mughal times.

I met some herati tajiks who are partialy Pashtuns since their last name ends with a -khil, like khel, the village and ****.

Alot of Herati people are identical to Iranians that live in that city called Marshad or w/e it's called. Therefore, there's a huge portion of Shia's in herat.... the tajik family i met were shia and had a pashtun surname.

Ghilzais pushed Durranis towards Herat......there were also Durranis in Mashad and other parts of Iranian Khorasan. I think Durranis conquered Mashad during Hotak period but soon Nadir Shah Afshar defeated them. Nadir Shah expelled Durranis from Herat and then exiled them to Iranian Khorasan. Later they were given Kandahar for their services against Hotaks. Then we see large number of Ghilzais exiled to Mashad and Nishapur region by Nadir Shah.....lot of shuffling around was going on this period......Due to threat like Azad Khan suliemankhel, Karim khan Zund massacred or expelled all the Afghans present in Iran when he assumed power in 1763. If he had not done that, Afghans would have been also present in significant numbers in Iran.
