History of Maingan and syeds

There are many Maigaans and syeds living in pashtun country on both side of durandline.
The syeds claim to be of arab origin and have conection to the prophet (pbuh).
Many syeds are fake just to get respect etc.
Many Maingans claim to be Gelanis and decendants of DARWEZA,Pir baba and kaka saib etc.
They are not pashtun by origin.
Many are good scholer of pashtu language.
They made great contribution to pashtu language.
Maigan and syeds are also very oppertunists type of people.
They have used pashtun jerga system to grab land in the past.
Derwaiza,pir baba etc were irani by origin.
Pir baba himself was originally from Tirmiz iran.
They supported the mugals.They also influenced their pashtun followers to reject pashtun liberty and support mugals.
Many of Derwaiza,s followers were in swat,buner region.

Maingans and syeds are also well educated people.

i want to know more about their origin.

I suggest we should discuss similar or same themes in one thread so that we can have one compendium of information at one place in a systematic way.

yes,we should.I did,nt check that thread.
I created this thread to discus only Maingan and syeds.
For kasabgars we have separate thread ,,,,,origin of pashtunised kasbagars.
It will be good if we can creat seperate thread .It will be easy for members to discuss .

If possible please merge the threads on similar themes of non Pashtuns like kasabgars, Miangan, Syeds, Mullan etc in one thread , this way we do not repeat the same thing.

My one aunt is from miangan...sayyed and they are very well respected..i dont know much about them except they were once upon a time rich ,involved in trade i think...not now.Have high education rate.
