Pashtuns have very few people of whom we can feel proud. One of them is Khushal Khan Khattak. He was neither a Nazi nor a racial supremacist but surely a Pashtun nationalist. He was the first elite Pashtun who used Pashto in his prose and poetry as well as in official dealings while others like Sher Shah Suri never used Pashto as an official language in his court.

I love Khushal Baba for his wisdom and love for Pashto and Pashtuns. I have read his diwan(poetry) and have found it full of wisdom and ecstasy. He was a secular modern Sufi Pashtun who explained his secularism in couplets like

Sheikh ba monz roja karhi za ba dakey pyaley akhlam
har sarhey paida dey khpal khpal kar lara kana

Mullah for prayers and fasting while I will drink full cups(of wine)
Every body has been created for his own duty(work)

I have visited the tomb of Khushal Baba and have found spiritual and literary solace there. Every Pashtun must visit his tomb at least one time in his/her life.
