To give you guys an idea of how much money Americans would pay for a good reproduction jezail, here are prices for a weapon of similar vintage:
    http://www.kentuckylongrifleshop.com/prices.htm

British collectors would no doubt pay even more for replicas of what was shooting at their great grand daddies. Jezails intended for this market could be cheaply made and not need to be functional, as their totalitarian regime forbids firearms ownership.

Any updates on this? An entrepreneur could sell non-functional replicas for about $500 ea to in theater military personnel. Trust me this is a better than the Pakistan-labeled but possibly Chinese-made carpets, hookahs, and knives and other trinkets that we buy as keepsakes. Take an average 600 man battalion, if only 10% are customers (number will be higher) 60x500 = 30,000 dollars. Since you aren't building functional weapons, most of the work can be done by unskilled women, children, and the disabled who would otherwise be unemployed.

Make the barrel removable, so that the entire thing can fit into a box no longer than 30 inches (the size of our personal item trunks). Don't forget that workmanship needs to be good.

C'mon guys the curtains are falling on the Afghanistan theater, where are the jezails already? If one of you doesn't get on it soon, I'm going to have these hand made in some Asian country. We'll have expat Pashtuns buying Chinese made Jezails in Western stores to bring back as gifts for their cousins living in Peshwar.

So if I make a small fortune selling replica Jezails, recommend to me a good Pashtun charity I can donate some of the profits to (besides PF). If there isn't any maybe we can pay people in Pakistan to translate Khan academy into Pashto, copy and distribute it in areas without schools. One TV and DVD player per village in FATA, how much do you think that would cost?

SiiNii so what's the story - did you find a source of Afghan-made jezails or will you be relying on Chinese/other Asians to make them?

#2 for non-functional low priced models. Not China, Cambodia.

USA production for high end guns, both display and functional weapons.

Will visit overseas production location at the beginning of next year. Do you think it would make a difference in the potential buyers' decision if the replicas are made by Muslims or not? I think it would, will try to find Khmer Cham to do the handiwork.

USA models depending on if the economy is still in one piece by then, hah.

That would run you about 100K I would imagine.

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

15k rupees = $150 / mo. That's a little bit lower than I expected by about $50. Would be better to hire the grads long term and ask international donors to provide funding for hardware.
