Actually a study of Yusufzai Pashtuns show that they are predominantly R1a1. I actually calculated their Y-paternal ancestry a few months ago and posted the results here. So no, they are Eurasian, not Semitic.

as i mentioned times over times , midnight , your genetic mapping is highly unscientific , the sample sizes are to small , and geographical bias is to predominant to make any conclusions if or if not pashtuns descent from the 10 tribes .

My job was to work in office and call elderly people and try to fool their pensions savings into bonds that was worth ****. The pay up was 50 dollar/h and 100 dollar bonus each, I convinced to come for meeting with my boss, who was also Afghan. But I decided that was a wrong thing to do, even if these elderly people are not my own people.

My father and mother was little disappointed at me, but when I told them the truth. My mother was who cares, a job is a job, you wasted good opportunity, you could be rich. But my father said, you did the right thing my son. A strong and honourable man doesn't take advantage of the poor or helpless. Even in this dirty filthy world, I have at least my pure Pashtun soul, a good heart and now a very good education, that makes me independent and free.

So it is indeed really possible that lost tribes of Israel did come to Afghanistan and brought their culture/religion, without mixing with locals. I think the fact that Pashtuns are a lost tribe of the jews is farfetched.

First of there is no recorded history of this "fact", more over the language of the Pashtuns is Indo-Aryan while Hebrew is Semetic, many customs are different and the ones that match are only due to in my opinion because of the joint Abrahamic faith.
