The accusations you made, misunderstanding data, were all of which was invalid per studies, as follows.

    1 Pashtuns are jews
    2 Pashtuns are middle eastern
3 Pashtuns are south Indian (implying dravidian?)
4 pashtuns share no common dna with Balkans
5 pashtuns share same dna as punjabis

The above stated by you is proven invalid, inaccurate, misinterpretation. Pashtuns are the only "pure" aryans left by language and dna from the original migration highest frequency or R1 outside of "Eastern Europe", a small percentage of Irani-Kurd-Nuristani and Balkan also hold this "unique" genetics not mixed with mongols, or dravidians.

    Razib Khan | March 29, 2012 12:14 am
..A new paper in PLoS ONE examines the Y-chromosomal patterns as they partition across ethnic groups in Afghanistan. By this, we mean the direct paternal lineage of Afghan men. Additionally, the authors place the results in a broader Eurasian context. The results are not surprising, though they add greater precision and power to our picture because of their sample size. The main downside is that they did not include mtDNA (maternal lineage) or autosomal analysis (the total ancestry, not just the paternal or maternal line).

Pashtun Archives - Gene Expression : Gene Expression

Mr Razib khan needs to realise realise for men u do not use mtdna (from mothers side) but for women. The conclusion is valid more Eurasian than any other group.

We are not saying some lower casts did not mix with ponjabs or hindus but majority residing in Afghanistan or NWFP did not, per mapping frequency and local.

Pashtanajan and those wanting to share their genetics, your privacy, and correct interpretation consult your genetic scientist for "mapping". Do not post your data here a few scientist unfortunately use the data in their blogs with their political motifs, mislead via mapping and correlation with those forieng to pashtun origin, Russia tried this as did Israel, Porkistan, India. Russia lucked out with closer grouping or R1 frequency shared with Pashtuns, I doubt the aid will start pouring in.

    Midnight sun,

your inability to understand the data or as you call it flood of genetic mapping, pictures, etc are all from valid scientific analysis, your limitation, inability to comprehend does not come as a surprise, but is the exact reason you should show "restrain when interpreting science".

Where has Midnight exactly said that? you are the one who can't understand how genetics work, your knowledge is more then 200 years old, you must be living in the past, with that pure aryan race bs.

No body has said that pashtuns are exactly related to punjabis, dravidians etc...

on the Harrapa project most punjabis show the south Indian component between 30-40% depending on the caste or individual ethnic group, while so far the pashtun samples are showing 19-22% of that component. It is true that the more pashtun samples we get, the south indian number may go down, maybe to even 10-15%. But your argument about pure race is totally stupid and illogical, no one is pure, the purest people probably are the bushmen from africa, who haven't mixed much with outsiders since the beginning of time, everyone else in Europe, Asia, Americas is mixed of different genetic components

The only value added in your court is "more test, lower the south dravidian hg for Pashtuns.

The Harrapa project whicc included Pathans has a major error- it groups Sindhi closer to Pathan than Ponjabi. I guess they hopped the Ponjabi population, then mountains and mixed, what a joke.

I am sure the person is getting "bombarded by questions" from scientist. Once again your showing hostility towards Pashtuns but not acknowledging their Aryan history and protected dna as requested by Pashtun elders asked for in the article few pages back.

The purist people ( by this we imply least mixed with foreigners) so far by genetics is Norway, Denmark.

The Norwegian population is typical of the Northern European population with Haplogroup I1 being most common. Norwegians also show the characteristic R1A genes of the paternal ancestorship at 17.9% to 30.8%.Such large freq uencies of R1a have been found only in East Europe..

pakistani, a worthless region with few pockets of purity, country that is none-existent in ancient or modern history, refuted by science, nature needs to send a flood in the region, needs a proper "washing".

9% R1a people belong to subclades
of R1a1a1 (R1a-M417), which is divided in the following subclades: R1a-L664 is essentially Northwest European, found chiefly in West Germany, the Low Countries and the British Isles. R1a-Z645 makes up the bunch of R1a individuals from Central Europe to South Asia.

      R1a-Z284
is a Scandinavian subclade with an epicentre in Norway. It is found also in places colonised by the Norwegian Vikings, like some parts of Scotland, England and Ireland.

R1a-Z93 is the main Asian branch of R1a. It is found in Central Asia, South Asia and Southwest Asia (including among Ashkenazi Jews). R1a-Z93 is the marker of historical peoples such as the Indo-Aryans, Persians, Medes, Mitanni, or Tatars, and pervaded the genetic pool of the Arabs and Jews. its subclade R1a-M434 makes up a small percentage of the population of Pakistan. Traces have also been found in Oman.

      Haplogroup R1a (Y-DNA) - Eupedia

Ashkenazir jews are not Israelist they are Turks who converted, hence should not be considered by Judian law Jews. Only 9% are part of this group, a small percent notability Pashtuns in NWFP belong.

      The Baltic branch

The Baltic branch is thought to have evolved from the Fatyanovo culture (3200-2300 BCE), the northeastern extension of the Corded Ware culture. Early Bronze Age R1a nomads from the northern steppes and forest-steppes would have mixed with the indigenous Uralic-speaking inhabitants (N1c1 lineages) of the region. This is supported by a strong presence of both R1a and N1c1 haplogroups from southern Finland to Lithuania and the adjacent part of Russia.

      The Indo-Iranian branch

Proto-Indo-Iranian speakers, the people who later called themselves 'Aryans' in the Rig Veda and the Avesta, originated in the Sintashta-Petrovka culture (2100-1750 BCE), in the Tobol and Ishim valleys, east of the Ural Mountains. It was founded by pastoralist nomads from the Abashevo culture (2500-1900 BCE), ranging from the upper Don-Volga to the Ural Mountains, and the Poltavka culture (2700-2100 BCE), extending from the lower Don-Volga to the Caspian depression. The Sintashta-Petrovka culture, associated with R1a-Z93 and its subclades, was the first Bronze Age advance of the Indo-Europeans west of the Urals, opening the way to the vast plains and deserts of Central Asia to the metal-rich Altai mountains. The Aryans quickly expanded over all Central Asia, from the shores of the Caspian to southern Siberia and the Tian Shan, through trading, seasonal herd migrations, and looting raids. Horse-drawn war chariots seem to have been invented by Sintashta people around 2100 BCE, and quickly spread to the mining region of Bactria-Margiana (modern border of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan). Copper had been extracted intensively in the Urals, and the Proto-Indo-Iranians from Sintashta-Petrovka were exporting it in huge quantities to the Middle East. They appear to have been attracted by the natural resources of the Zeravshan valley for a Petrovka copper-mining colony was established in Tugai around 1900 BCE, and tin was extracted soon afterwards at Karnab and Mushiston. Tin was an especially valued resource in the late Bronze Age, when weapons were made of copper-tin alloy, stronger than the more primitive arsenical bronze. In the 1700's BCE, the Indo-Iranians expanded to the lower Amu Darya valley and settled in irrigation farming communities (Tazabagyab culture). By 1600 BCE, the old fortified towns of Margiana-Bactria were abandoned, submerged by the northern steppe migrants. The group of Central Asian cultures under Indo-Iranian influence is known as the Andronovo horizon, and lasted until 800 BCE. T

The Indo-Iranian migrations progressed further south across the Hindu Kush. By 1700 BCE, horse-riding pastoralists had penetrated into Balochistan (south-west Pakistan). The Indus valley succumbed circa 1500 BCE, and the northern and central parts of the Indian subcontinent were taken over by 500 BCE. Westward migrations led Old Indic Sanskrit speakers riding war chariots to Assyria, where they became the Mitanni rulers from circa 1500 BCE. The Medes, Parthians and Persians, all Iranian speakers from the Andronovo culture, moved into the Iranian plateau from 800 BCE. Those that stayed in Central Asia are remembered by history as the Scythians, while the Yamna descendants who remained in the Pontic-Caspian steppe became known as the Sarmatians to the ancient Greeks and Romans. The Indo-Iranian migrations have resulted in high R1a frequencies in southern Central Asia, Iran and the Indian subcontinent. The highest frequency of R1a (about 65%) is reached in a cluster around Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and northern Afghanistan. In India and Pakistan, R1a ranges from 15 to 50% of the population, depending on the region, ethnic group and caste. R1a is generally stronger is the North-West of the subcontinent, and weakest in the Dravidian-speaking South (Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh) and from Bengal eastward. Over 70% of the Brahmins (highest caste in Hindusim) belong to R1a1, due to a founder effect. Maternal lineages in South Asia are, however, overwhelmingly pre-Indo-European.

For instance, India has over 75% of "native" mtDNA M and R lineages and 10% of East Asian lineages. In the residual 15% of haplogroups, approximately half are of Middle Eastern origin. Only about 7 or 8% could be of "Russian" (Pontic-Caspian steppe) origin, mostly in the form of haplogroup U2 and W (although the origin of U2 is still debated). European mtDNA lineages are much more common in Central Asia though, and even in Afghanistan and northern Pakistan. This suggests that the Indo-European invasion of India was conducted mostly by men through war, and the first major settlement of women was in northern Pakistan, western India (Punjab to Gujarat) and northern India (Uttar Pradesh), where haplogroups U2 and W are the most common.

      Haplogroup R1a (Y-DNA) - Eupedia

      The Greek branch

Little is known about the arrival of Proto-Greek speakers from the steppes. The Mycenaean culture commenced circa 1650 BCE and is clearly an imported steppe culture. The close relationship between Mycenaean and Proto-Indo-Iranian languages suggest that they split fairly late, some time between 2500 and 2000 BCE. Archeologically, Mycenaean chariots, spearheads, daggers and other bronze objects show striking similarities with the Seima-Turbino culture (c. 1900-1600 BCE) of the northern Russian forest-steppes, known for the great mobility of its nomadic warriors (Seima-Turbino sites were found as far away as Mongolia). It is therefore likely that the Mycenaean descended from Russia to Greece between 1900 and 1650 BCE, where they intermingled with the locals to create a new unique Greek culture.

India was not Indo-Aryan only Afghans and iranians, only a small percentage of Pashtuns residing in NWFP carry R1A not majority of Paki.

Aryan is in reference to group of people, not necessarily language, the Iranians,Afghans who maintained this genetic purity is easily recognized with Nordic phenotype.

R1a is the most common haplogroup in pakistan found in most of the population, even your own source is saying that, at least read your own source. It is found in at least 50% of the population. Both in Pakistan/North India is around 50% on average, while in south India it is lower at 15%. But that doesn't mean they are aryans, nobody is aryans.

But majority of Afghanistan today is non pashtun(almost 65%) and the groups like tajiks, uzbek, hazara are a mix of persians and mongol's etc

And other than this historic wise Modern Pakistan territory is the most strategic region in South asia.

Indus valley civilization is not only consider the oldest in the region but the most important hinduism religious book was written by the indigenous people of IVC(punjab/sindh) within the modern Geography of Pakistan

Other than this apart from Iraq i doubt any other Country in the region has civilization as old as Indus valley civilization.

Though the pashtun people are mostly the descendent of the Mehrgarh civilization in Balochistan.Which is considered the base of All the pakistanis,North and western indians

No it's not. You didn't provide anything, just pictures and expect me to sift through an entire article for something that you claim is in there. Find it for me, this is your own argument, so prove it.

We are not saying some lower casts did not mix with ponjabs or hindus but majority residing in Afghanistan or NWFP did not, per mapping frequency and local.
Why are you talking about caste? Are you Indian? Pashtuns don't talk about caste.

I'm only going to answer one of your indistinct accusations at a time, so no need to put words in my mouth about things you clearly don't understand.

Without rambling your unclear and unintelligible thoughts, just answer your first accusation that Pashtuns are the purest ethnicity by providing an excerpt (not the whole article, nor a map that was not included in the discussion), or a quote from any of the research out there, that proves Pashtuns are the purest.

Let me reiterate one more time, if you didn't understand: Find me a quote from the readings you mentioned in your FIRST reply where the purity of Pashtuns is mentioned? You claim you came to this conclusion from reading a message board post and a research article about migration patterns that had nothing to do with purity.

Instead of posting the ENTIRE map, or Article, just post me one conclusion made by the genetic scientists, or even from a forum member of that message board you linked to, that say that Pashtuns are the purest.

You don't have to post 5 quotes...just find me one...

            --

Oh and please answer the question in one paragraph.

Even if you prove yourself right you wont get a cookie so what exactly is this going to achieve?

Seriously, everybody knows Pashtuns have the highest amount of R1A in the world, and everyone knows Pashtuns are not related to Indians. So whats the point of escalating this crap? Nobody cares what halogroup you belong too so case closed!

The paki gov wants USA Aid Mr suckdeepsingh is trying to sell paki-whitehood of the ponjab illegitimate boundaries, a common-latest tactic the Pakistanis are pushing. The Hindu's are also deploying a similar cunning by saying the Hindus are the original Aryans, both sides are from Dravidians.. two faced brotherhood.

What we Americans and Pashtuns realize, is pakistan and indian are not the same Race as Pashtuns, most certainly not "Europoid", nor do they share the same phenotype (skin color, bone structure) culture or language. The Hindus and Pakis who do carry R1A are a product of Aryan Invasion, half breds yes, "pure enough" to be called Aryan absolutely not. 50% carry Pashtun blood, across India and Paksitan not possible, Pashtuns or Aryans did not penetrate all the way down the Indian Ocean.

Seriously, everybody knows Pashtuns have the highest amount of R1A in the world, and everyone knows Pashtuns are not related to Indians. So whats the point of escalating this crap? Nobody cares what halogroup you belong too so case closed!
I agree with you, genetics is not a priority to talk right now, because I don't trust foreign "science" in this kind of matters, but it is far more important in the future.

This can be fixed in the far future with a great policy.

Some of the South Asian components can also be found in Eurasia, so it's probably good not to jump to conclusions.

                        Some interesting results:

U2 Ancestry was the most prevalent for Pashtun. I myself am U2c1.

Pashtuns had the most South Asian affinity of all ethnic groups, followed closely by Hazara, Tajik, Uzbek, then Turkmen.

Tajiks, Turkmens, Uzbeks and Pashtuns ranged over 50% Eurasian affinities, while Hazaras had the least. (No surprises there).
                        Hi

I am an Australian with U2C1 MtDNA, like yours. I'm still very ignorant about DNA - can you refer me to any site with normal language information on this haplotype - I can't find a lot on it. My known source ancestor was in Chandernagah, Bengal in the 1750's, married to a French trader. She may have had Portuguese and Indian parentage. Thereafter the family 'became' French/English and then, for the last 5 generations Australian. I've seen some inferences that the haplotype's first location was in Afganistan but not sure if this accurate. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

                        Trevor

So if science doesn't say something that you find flattering you distrust it? are you serious. Are you even qualified to assess the quality of scientific work?

You know what they call what you're doing? Confirmation Bias!

What do you guys think about this?

A Quraishi member from Saudi Arabia came out being R1a1. According to the Arab DNA forum, he is a member of the Bani Shabia tribe who's member hold one of the keys to the holy Kabba.

I was very surprised that a Quraish from the middle east came out positive with a haplogroup that is mostly associated with Pashtuns on a large scale. It would have made more sense if a syed or somebody claiming to be quriash from pakistan or another part of the world was r1a1 positive but i figured most members of the tribe of Prophet Muhammad (PBH) in the middle east would be J1 which is a haplogroup mostly associated with arabs. Somebody suggested that some members of the tribe were replaced by domestic servants who adopted their name.

                              Still pretty interesting.

You are some deluded individual, R1a is not associated with pashtuns. Its just a haplogroup and even 26% of chechu jungli tribal in South India have it. It just means unknown common ancestor of r1a many thousands of years ago from Russia was some bad a** mother ****er. No wonder so many people in south asia have this same haplogroup.

Its like Chenghez Khan single handly changed haplogroup of so many Afghanis, and their nasal for ever.
