Well they didn't win but it is believable, however we have no clue as to what weapons each side had, many of the Pashtun tribesmen could have just had swords while the British base could have had a small artillery piece

definitely is believable. But as one other brother mentioned in a separate thread. What is there to be happy about? They didn't even fight for there own kingdom they fought as warrior slaves to the British, aiding the invaders against the invaded.

mr.sikh, stop pretening to be afghan. This is made up story , all the british historians who wrote about frontier uprising of 1897 didnt write any thing about this saraghari. Even sir winston churchil who participated in this war and wrote a book about it, is silent on it.

The problem with Sikhs is that they're entire history is like a childrens cartoon. Its all super heroes and stuff like that.

The truth is, India was invaded by Muslims (mainly Afghan soldiers) at le3ast 5 times. Everytime a Muslim army entered India, it was through Punjab.

Punjabis have always suffered from the attacks of Muslims.

In fact, Sikh religion is formed and shaped by the Punjabis fear and hatred for Muslim (Pashtuns in particular).

So naturally, when the Sikh served the British army, they had some success. They like to change the facts and make it look like a great victory for them.

Sikhs are only brave when they stab and kill their own wives and daughters. Thats Sikh understanding of bravery.

There is a reason for everything. Remember the movie "500" (or was it "300?") where the greek soldiers defeated an iranian army much higher in number? Much reason was given for this victory, armor being a big one. Since its so hard to find information, we may never know the truth. To me, we are all human beings, and it is illogical that afridi pashtuns are would be defeated in such a manner, as if they were that weak.

It's a lie, I've read somewhere, where this is false and just made up to bolster their image in South Asia at the time. Also it's not believable at all, The Pashtuns, the same race that is known well known around the world for their warrior like and fearless characteristics loses to a couple of Sikhs? More over in their own land? The same race that has been responsible for the largest wipe out of British soldiers in history? The same race that has been fighting and winning against "world powers". The list goes on. Definitely not believable at all.

Punjabis are notable for tenderizing and irrationally boosting about their history especially when it comes to Pashtuns. Its all fairy tales and myths for them, especially when they make up crap saying that pashtun mothers had to scare their children about how hari singh nawla would come for them if they didn't sleep. Now you tell me, do you honestly think a bunch of gurus with scruffy beards can beat pashtuns, a people who's history is built upon bloodshed, war and fighting.? Pashtuns are known in all of asia as lion-hearts and warriors who fight to the death for their freedom unlike the sikhs.

If Punjabis lost and surrendered to the british, what makes you think they can beat a bunch of strong Pashtuns?

Nothing thats what lol, its their infiltrated ego that makes them think they are some kind of special people. Thats why they think they differ from other indians and see think they are beneath them. Don't get me wrong i like punjabi people as i have punjabi friends, but its the nationalists that bring a whole nation down and make people change their whole views and opinions on them.

Its certainly possible, an American can kill a million Pashtuns by pressing a button. The article doesn't mention about the Sikhs using heavy weaponry or anything and only mentions hand to hand fighting. 21 Sikhs killed hundreds of Pashtuns in close range combat? Yeah I don't think so.

For such a victory, there is barely any info on the actual "battle."
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
