It was Taimur Shah the son of great Ahmad Shah Baba who turned the table on Afghan/Pakhtun. The later Afghan rulers perpetuated the same policy to cling to the throne. The "cultured" Parsiban aristocracy and bureaucracy took the Afghan elite as virtual hostage and even hijacked the historical appellation of "Afghan", which previously particularized only Pakhtuns. The Afghan/Pakhtun were stubbornly called as "Aksariyat-e-Bayfarhang". Today, with Karzai at the saddle, the Pakhtuns are lacking proper representation matching to their size. Makhdoom Raheen was bold enough to attack the culture of the majority and names of the ministries and department were changed to Dari. The worst was witnessed when hostile protestors dismantled the portrait edifice of great Ahmad Shah Baba and erected the portrait of Ahmad Shah Masud in Ghazi stadium Kabul, which reveals the hidden designs of vested interest to disrobe the Pakhtuns of their due status and standing in Afghanistan. The" Milli Sarod" (National Anthem) of Afghanistan, after the return of Democracy, was hanging for a long time as the minorities refused to accommodate a leading role of the Big Brother to the Pakhtuns.
