  • Pashtun-Tocharian connection?

Is there any? I have heard that tocharians came from the tarmin basin in present day china and moved into modern day Afghanistan. Is this true? I also heard that the Chinese believed the kushans to decendents of them and ironically, Pashtuns are also considered to be direct descendants of the kushans. Lots of Pashtuns also have red hair and so did the tocharians.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

yes tochrians were also mostly R1A, so yes their could be a direct connection, R1a is found heavily among pashtuns, kalash, pamiris, and even northern south asians, I think in ancient times all these areas were linked

I have also noticed some name similarities of the Tochi tribe and the name Tocharian. Can there be a connection here?
