That's right Mongolia. All Turkic people came from there before they settled in central Asia. Khan means "chieftain" in the mongol language.
Not to be confused with European Turks, no they did not migrate from Mongolia. The tatari are a mixture of turk-mongoloid they migrated after Atila the hun in turkmanistan and central asia. Turks originated from the Anatolian region, the European turks are not similar to the halfbreed central asian turk-mongoloids.

The Turkic people are not native to Central Asia. They were believed to have migrated from Mongolia during the invasions of Genghis Khan. The original inhabitants of the central Asia were the iranic peoples, and the natives that are still living in their homeland and are not mixed with mongols are Pashtuns. Also Attila the Hun was believed to be Caucasian, not mongoloid.

My dear Turks and Mongols are part of same family. You can call them cousins.

Anatolian Turks migrated there from Central Asia after Mongol Invasion. Ottomans were originally Turkmans. They mad alliance with Seljuks against mongols and byzantines and became sovereign after the down fall of Seljuks.

How can one call Afghans as mongols. When Genghiz khan attacked Khwarzim Empire. It were Afghans who provided shelter to fugitive prince Jalal ud Din son of King of Khwarzim. Afghans also managed to defeat the mongol army for the first time in the history by helping Jalal ud Din. But it is our nature that we dont like unity. Soon a dispute rose among afghans and Jalal ud Din and he again lost to mongols on the banks of Indus.
