  • Pashtun / Pashtunistan flags?

    Googles gives this:
    Afghanistan

Froggy Hijabee: A bit of culture

My Pashto keyboard layouts are just about finished, but are still in need of their own icons. The flag of Afghanistan is already assigned to the default Pashto layout and also Afghan Dari. I don't know what flag would be the most appropriate.

Should I use a half Pakistan / half Afghanistan flag? Durrani or Ghilzai tribal flag? Black flag of Khorosan?

Pakistan has nothing to do with either Pashto or Pashtuns.

Depends on how you define Pakistan.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

          -Ferishta, 1560–1620

How many mongols live in mongolia? there are more mongolians in China, doesn't mean China has anything to do with Mongolia the same way Pakistan doesn't have anything to do with Pashtuns. What about Khalistan, does it have anything to do with Punjabis? No, because 70% of Punjabis are muslim and have remained muslim after Sikhism was found. Sikh converts are usually from the warrior caste punjabi hindus, but punjabi muslims that are of hindu or arab heritage have been in punjab long before.

Pakistan, anything east of the Indus river, really, the durrand line shoudl've actually been in the indus river, not cutting through pashtun and balochi soil. There are several maps that show most of NWFP was part of Afghanistan since the afghan kingdom was founded in 1700's to gain independance from the Shia Persians and Mughals. Afghanistan, has lost NWFP to the British raj, why do you think you want to support Pakistan when you do not realize it was a byproduct of the british.

Afghanistan and the Taliban do not recognize NWFP being part of pakistan the same way Pakistan doesn't recognize Kashmir being part of India. Sorry, a nuclear bomb is not goanna convince a Pashtun to stick with Pakistan, Abdul Qadir Khan is a Mohajir with Pashtoon roots and should've given the nuclear bomb to his people that are related to him by blood and heritage, not The Punjabi-Urdu government of Pakistan.

What makes you think your Pakistani, if you were born in NWFP, know that your land used to be part of Afghanistan 120 years ago, depening on the birth of soil of you and your parents etc., The kingdom, then republic of Afghanistan and the Taliban think you are Afghan not Pakistani.

But population has nothing do with people living somewhere shehbaz. Most of these pashtuns in Pakistan are refugees who escaped from Afghanistan during the soviet war. Pakistan doesn't like pashtuns in general so why stand up for a country that hates us?

There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

So Pakistan's flag is out, but what you do think of the flag pictured? I like that it'll stand out after it's scaled down to the size of an icon.

                        Or, how about:

I think the white and green was used by tajik nationlists during the massoud regime. But i still prefer the green red and black.
