you are smarter than this.
Hazaras were not here in 400 BC. They arrived 1500 years later with mongol hordes. You don't have to be chinese looking to be budhist. Budhism is from India not, China. Swat, jalalabad, laghman all have Budhist sites from that era. Many influential Budhist teachers have been from Afghanistan/pakhtunkhwa. We were not always muslim and culureless.

The museum in Peshawar is testimony to that in addition to museums of Dir and Swat---They contains a large amount of Budhist relic. Bhudism once held sway over the region from Taxila to Kandahar and Bamian.Originally posted by badmash_khel View Postlol WTF?

I have had this discussion with Hazaras alot and they argued under the pretext that Bhudda´s face shows Mongolian facial structures and that´s a hint that Hazaras/Mongols lived in modern day Afghanistan way before the Mongol Invasion of Central Asia.Originally posted by abassinafghanching chong face , a thousand times ....
The problem is that Buddha himself was a Shakya from northern India, an indo-aryan tribe.
The "mongol facial expression" is a sign for his enlightenment and his eyes are half-closed in this state of mind.
Hazaras misinterpret that aspect in their favour.
Clear sign of falsifying history. The only constant is change.

Although an interesting piece of information, one must not over-interpret it. Until, there is substantial evidence about it preferably from multiple sources also backed by what makes appeal to reason and is a physical possibility, one must not overly interpret this. I don't know how can one in his/her lifetime traverse vast stretches of land from Afg all the way to Bairang strait and then north and south America...and then also make the journey back home.

Physical possibility? The ancient Egyptians knew the exact circumference of the earth which means they knew the earth was round. Evidence have been found in Baghdad that people in the 12th century knew that splitting the smallest unit of matter would unleash so much energy that it would destroy the city of Baghdad.Originally posted by Toramana View PostAlthough an interesting piece of information, one must not over-interpret it. Sailors with very basic ships have made it around the world. Do you not know all a person needs is courage to make the voyage. I would not be surprised that evidence would be found one day that Native Americas had made it to Europe, Africa or the South Pacific.Last edited by khushal; 07-29-2012, 07:36 PM.

Nobody "discovered" America. It had already been discovered by the Aboriginal people long ago, around the Ice Age.
However, this information nonetheless is pretty neat if it's true.Last edited by pashtanajan; 08-02-2012, 05:02 PM.True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around us. - Socrates

I remember reading somewhere (Nat Geo?) that they had discovered the wreckage of a ship built in the Chinese style off the coast of Washington state, and that local American Indian legend recalls meeting with travelers from across the sea many years before contact with Europeans.
If you're interested in pre-Columbian contact theories you should read the works of an adventurer named Thor Heyerdahl, who attempted to retrace the voyages of early explorers using the same technology (reed boats and rafts).
