Muhmmad (saw) practiced what he preached. compare that to people like Saddam, Stalin, Saudi Royal family, zahir shah, shah of Iran and other similar personalities and you can see for yourself who is a better example to follow.

Lets have a look at our own house and life style first. I have 17 rooms in my house and 4 rooms for the guests...

^ well being rich isn't a problem, but one major problem is that rich people these days dont take responsibility to help the poor. This is the most major wrong doing on their part, Allah has given them the privilege position, yet they totally waste it

Rich people will have to answer this in front of Allah one day

The rulers are on a different level altogether. Saudi kings and Sheikhs have control of over $800 billion dollars in assets and this is actually the disclosed figure, it's probably much more than that. if they wanted to they could have solved many of the issues in the muslim world. However they are busy enjoying their lives.

But again, they will have to face Allah one day.....

We should do our part, we should at least give the minimum zakat required by Islam

That is why I like northern people(I mean peope of Russias and Americas north) - they live only with the minimum , and that in the hardest winter and food conditions- they never made wars to anybody(perhaps not all, but I know that some even havn't got the word war in their language).
Taking as much as you need to live and be thankfull....
