  • @GoE - I am surprised you thanked AR's post while in my previous posts I have been saying the exact same things that you found offensive. Your prejudice is very evident.

@AR - Most historians agree that MRS never managed to enter the Pashtun heartlands and that's what I too have alluded to in my previous posts. What people forget is that Pashtun tribes, subsequent to the first Central Asian invasions, had made inroads into the plains and territories beyond what is now known as Pashtun areas. So there were Pashtun rulers interspersed with local kingdoms in the Punjab, till Bengal in the east. Similarly, kingdoms like Multan and others along both sides of the Indus were held by Pashtuns. These areas were mostly plains and it was in these areas that MRS fought his battles and more often than not, won. To see these battles as his conquest of the entire Pashtun nation would be a a great folly and delusional to say the least.

That is proof the Pashtuns refused the Muslim conquests. It was the Turks under Ghaznavi who forcibly converted the Pashtuns to Islam.

He used Islam to conquer Hindustan.

      Go and read books.

Ahmad Shah invaded India for its riches, he massacred innocent people in India and looted it of its riches.

He then placed the Durranis into power and refused to accept any other tribes into his monarchy.

Before you utter such nonsense, do you know there is a huge rivalry between Ghilzais and Durranis that has been going on for centuries.

You do know the ghilzais have been regarded as Non Pashtuns for centuries and considered as Turks?

Stupid boy, go read the history of your own people before you insult others.

      OK TWO THINGS.

NO.1 do you really believe in the propaganda that one Turk came to power and forcibly at sword point converted the entire warrior Afghan nation or at least the majority?

Did you know that in the soviet era when the notion of communism began to circulate. It erupted into dramatic armed resistance where whole tribes united to fight the communists and this was was when communism was not even implemented in most parts. Yet some how your quick to believe all our gallant ancestors were forced into Islam!

The truth is when the Arabs first invaded Afghanistan the Afghans resisted and therefore the Arabs failed to subdue them, thereafter when sultan mahmud ghazni came to power and started spreading islam peacefully amongst the afghans. The afghans were quick to accept islam for two reasons. One because the message was brought forward by their fellow countrymen and your fellow countrymen only wants the best for his people and secondly because their own way of life known as pukhtunwali was in direct conformity with the religion of islam and therefore they knew that islam could not be anything but the truth and accepted islam.

NO.2 Sultan mahmud was not a turk imperialist as you put it and we will always defend him. Do you know why? because
      (a) He brought the religion of truth, the religion of Islam to us.
      (b) He made Afghanistan a great empire that sent shivers down the spine of other empires.
      (c) He was a fellow countrymen who was born in Afghanistan and died in Afghanistan and is buried in the town of Ghazni in Afghanistan, which is named after him as that is where he was born.
      (d) His mother was a pakhtun from Zabul in southern Afghanistan.
      (e) Also his descendants and blood has become one with us, through the process of assimilation. The reasons can be enumerated and elucidated further but i see no need, as i have made my point clear. Sultan mahmud ghazni is one of our ancestors, so be careful in what you say.

He may not be a hero to you but like khalsa mentioned its a matter of personal opinion/perspective.

Is this tha Muslim way to talk about non-Pakhtuns? "Tha father of all pakistani punjabi's" WOW Brother, I'm amazed at this statement, and this hate coming from your heart. I'm a Pakistani Pakhtun, and I also see how these corrupt panjabi leaders kill my brothers, and sisters in tha pakhtun lands, but I don't blame it on panjabi's, I blame it on tha fact that Islam is notbeing followed in our country. You see a Panjabi kill a pakhtun, and all of a sudden, all panjabi's are tha cause of our problems, but what do u have to say for tha pakhtuns that kill pakhtuns? What do u say about Karzai (Our own pakhtun brother) killing his own, by allowing America to run free in our motherland? Tha last time I checked, I think tha number of civillians killed in Afghanistan was about 50/60 thousand, but it is probably many more than that. What about tha 30 plus thousand killed in my country? We are all suffering, and u choose to use these petty attacks, instead of trying to unite people, u choose to cause more hatred, and divisions. I have cried for m pakhtun brothers and sisters
who r killed daily, just like I cry for all our innocent Muslims across tha world. You need to become a Muslim first, then pakhtun, and not tha other way around. Hopefully, this mind-set will b changed INSHA ALLAH. PEACE

                      • 1. Maharaja Ranjit Singh was a successful leader and a General who, for the first time, created the Khalsa Army out of the warlike Sikhs. He appointed European military specialists to ,modernize the organization, eqpt and tactics of the Khalsas. This evolved into the best fighting machine in the sub-region, one from which the British kept away till after his death.

2.For the first time ever in the history of the Punjabi nation, the Punjabis had a kingdom of their own. The Punjabis were never masters of their fate prior to Ranjit Singh.

                        3. Peshawar and Kabul, that is the present day Afghanistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, were conquered by him easily because of their weak and fractious leaders/tribes. Therefore, Syed Ahmed Brelevi Shaheed along with Gen Ismail thought it incumbent to call for Jihad to oust the Sikhs and the British from this area. Syed Ahmed's base of power was Eastern Hindustan the core of which is the present day Bangladesh. His support here was also based on the fact that this is the area where the Pathans/Afghans/Pashtuns rulers had been ruling just recently.

                        4. Syed Ahmed received spontaneous support for his cause in Eastern Hindustan which saw volunteers and donations pouring in. In fact this trend of sending volunteers and donations have never ceased, and can be seen in the recent times in the volunteers and financial support that have gone for the Jihad against the Soviets, the Jihad against the Americans and the Kashmiri Jihad.
