  • Why are some areas west of Indus included in Punjab?

I was reading through some historical geography books online. Strabo the greek geographer says the country west of Indus river is called Ariana and Indus river is the boundry between Ariana and India. So my question is why are some areas west of Indus river included in modern Punjab province when they should be part of KP?

They already are being called "Ariana" might as well be called "Punjabi. Anything but what they really are (Pashtun).

Historically East Afg/KP was called Ghandara, but I guess people liked Ariana better and now Punjab.
