He was under duress. He was facing the mightiest army in the world yet he maintained his independence, though at the cost of the Durrand Line.
"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be".

"Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives".

Most of the historians consider the durand line agreement as a great victory for Amir abdur Rehman.....coz at that times Britishers were the most powerfull they were ruling almost all of the india and now they were trying to annex afghanistan as they were afraid of Russian activities.....so at that time it was a wise move by Amir abdur Rehman to give them the most rebellious areas and thus prevent the afghan capital ....at the course of time many Britishers have accepted that it was very hard for them to supress those areas and that they were in war with these tribals most of the time and a lot of energy + money was used....
Na soz sho na saaz sho,

                Pokhton malgariya, laga saarha khura.
As I have said before, the ethnic tensions in Afghanistan have been created and magnified due to two reasons:

1 The 32 years of on-going fighting and factionalisation.
2 The major propagator fo this Pashtun v Farsiwaan or Pashtun v Tajik theme are the Paistanis and ISI. They want to use this propaganda to weaken the Afghan Republic by harping on about the 'Panjshiri' control of the Afghan Government and non-representation of Pashtuns and in order to portray the ISI-sponsored terrorist Taliban as some form of Pashtun Nationalism.

I quite understand that there are problems and issues and distrusts in Afghanistan in an ethnic context, but I am a firm believer that the Pashtuns and Tajiks have no differences of interest which should make them be perpetually antagonistic to each other.

No malgariya, I have no desire to play the blame game. What I want is to see the things in a Pashtun-beneficial way. Both Pashtuns and Tajiks/Farsiwans have grudges and problems woth each other but all of them can be solved at the negotiations table. Malgariya, I am not trying to rectify anyone's racist thinking because, frankly. it is thier problem.

Pashtuns on the Pakistan side just don't care they are active in the military, they work for the intelligence, they work for the destruction of there motherland Afghanistan and they expect us to be on our knees to beg em to join us? No.
The reasons why the Pashtuns to the east of the Durand Line are like this due to the state propaganda and state indoctrination. Plus, what can you achieve by trying to magnify this problem/shortcoming?

And that must also been the reason why you left no chance in insulting Pukhtoons from every aspect, but when those points were pointed out in Tajiks you called it 'a shame for the entire nation'. If you were an true Afghan yourself then when people told you you are a Pukhtoon then you wouldn't feel allergic to it, you would have said; 'Yes, I am an Pukhtoon. As well as Tajik, Hazara as Uzbek because I am an Afghan and every bit of Afghanistan.' That would have made you kept your true face away from the forum and you could easily have fooled us Pukhtoons, by posing as a Pukhtoon.
