  • Yusufzai's and Daudzai's?-Help

Hi everyone, I'm pretty new here and happy I found this forum.
I was wondering wht my lineage might be. My father is Daudzai and my mom is Yusufzai, My dad is from Lahore and my mom is from Gurjanawalla, in Punjab. Most of my family lives in Punjab but I also have alot of relatives living in Khyber/Mardan/ Northwest area, and even a few in Afghanistan most of them look white lol. My mom knows very little pashto, my dad knows basic. I myself know very little but I'm learning. I heard that my great grandmother knew fluent pashto and same with my grandfather basiclly everyone knew fluent pashto two generations ago. My mom and my dad call themselves Pathan in front of their Pakistani/Indian friends but with other Pashtuns they call themselves Pashtuns. Now I'm just wondering what could be my roots? Could I be mixed with Indian blood? *gasp* Everyone in my entire family is Pashtun, except for a few people, my family is pretty strict with pashtun-pashtun marriges. I might post a pic of myself because I'm that desperate to know lmao.

There's no such thing as "Pashtun blood". Pashtuns are descended from not only the original natives of what is now Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa but also the original Yousufzai who conquered it in the 15th century, Turks from Central Asia, nomads from the Caucasus, Jews, Aryans, White Huns, Arabs, people we'd consider "white", people we'd consider "Asian/Chinese", people we'd consider Aryan, people we'd consider Indian, etc, etc. Many non-Pashtun peoples were either Pashtunized over the ages by their Pashtun conquerors and there were also many settlers and conquerors that got gradually absorbed into the Pashtun culture and tribal confederacies.

"Pashtun-nes" comes from having a lineage (tribe, khel/clan, family, land, ancestral home), the ability to speak Pashto, respecting adhering to the norms of Pashtun culture and not necessarily green eyes and freckles.
"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be".

"Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives".

I see, yeah I know a bit about my culture, like I'm Musa-Khel and all, people tend to think I'm Lebonese, Afghani,Albanian or Pakistani. I was just wondering how did my family of Yusufzai's and Daudzai's get in Punjab?

Pashtuns are very colorful in a way. You could have a sibling whose real light, while your other sibling can be brown. It doesn't mean your Indian, or European.

          Also,

Your 100% Pashtun, and welcome I hope you find the language section helpful.

there is not a big difference in the different dialects of pashto except the hard Khay pashto dialect is better, no I kid.
tushakur is farsi which actually borrowed it from arabic.
                  In pashto its manana.

How do you guys say "how are you" in your family if you dont mind me asking?
