ghalzay and durrani are huge tribes occupying a large territory. they could not get so huge without a reason, but it is possible that other peoples living nearby or inside ghalzay territory assimilated into ghalzay tribe and adopted their social structure.
durrani were coming down from eastern afghanistan, from sulayman mountains moving towards west til they have reached herat so they are definately intermixed.

Many Nomadic tribes fall under Ghiljay. Not all are blood related.

I do not agree with that, that is what the Speenian (Whities) historians like to utter. Sir Olaf Caroe etc.

Remember, in our region the most accurate history is Oral History, because the only constant here has been war. Not what some un related half educated military grunt would like us to believe.

anyways, there is half truth to your'e statement, since there are some people who have been described Ghilzai, but they actually arent. Again, mostly by Speeniaaan.

I am from the Ghiljay tribe. And I have studied Pashtun tribal structure and ethnology. Ghalji are a mixture of different ancient tribes. But primarily Saka. But there are minor tribes like Mullah Khel and Dawtani who are considered Ghalji. But by origin they are not related to the core tribes such as the sulaiman khel and Hotak.

Sounds nice but make no sense. For pashtuns it would be a disgrace so this is not logical. It is simply a corrupted form of Gharzay - son of mountain ;-)
Still Glatzer is one of the best researcher on pashtun culture and tribes. He loved Afghanistan and spend half of his live there. RIP

Actually in Pashtunwali ******* children and raped women are kept within the household. And Cerainly in Shari'ah there is no disgrace for being a ******* or a victim of rape.

Are these the same Ahmadzais that live in Pakistan as well, or are those another Ahmadzai tribe/subtribe?

There are Ahmadzai in every tribe. Because the name Ahmad is very common name.

But Ahmadzai branch of Ghiljay is a sub-branch of Sulaiman Khel. But in numbers Ahmadzai is almost as large as the entire Sulaiman Khel tribe. That is why Sulaiman Khel and Ahmadzai are considered as two seperate tribes.

Ahmadzai has 13 branches. Most famous are Musa Khel, Isa Khel, Abu Bakr Khel, Jabbar Khel Maruf Khel and a few others.

I am dead proud of them. They are zeega Pashtana and the pride of Pashtuns who are also fierst nationalist, strongheaded but easily manipulated i.e. Mullah Omar one-eye Donkey Akhund.

When did I say they are not, or anything about them? Being a Durrani myself, you're being redundant here and out of place, don't you think?

If that is the case, then the answer is definitely "ignorance".
