pashtuns of south khurasan ,iran

When we discuss the history ,life and politics of pashtuns it should not be limited to pashtunkhwa and afghanistan.
We will go one by one to know more about our brothers and sisters living in other parts of the world.
There are around one hundered thousands pashtuns living in south khorasan province of iran.Remember we are not including afghan refugees living there.We are discussing only the iranian citizens pashtuns.
A friend of mine visited that part and he said the pashtuns of south khorasan of iran are living in poverty.There is discrimination against them by the iranains on the bases of religion like suni ,shai issues but pashtuns are hard working people and life gose on for them.
The pashtuns of south -khorasan of province of iran are living close to the afghan border.The pashtuns ruled over so these people might came during the time of hotaki rule over iran or they might be the original inhabitants of that land.I am interested to know what tribe of pashtuns they belong to.
It is interesting that many of them speak pashtu and some are pawondas.
There are some shalmani pashtuns living in iran in the cities of asfahan,gilan etc.In Gilan there is river called ,,shalman rud,,named after pashtun shalmani tribe.There are some shalmani-pashtuns scientists working in different feilds in iran like AM shalmani,A.kOCHAKI SHALMANI and Manzouris shalmani etc.

these areas were formerly part of Afghanistan just like punjdey area in tajikistan.
i personally heard this for the first time here on PF but its quite interesting.

other thing i want to point is that Pashtuns were also cut from their brethern in India,i dont hear much about them as if they have become indians.

That number was result of1966 or after death of Barakzai leader of freedom fighters, that's when Shah of Iran ordered a demographic caculation of Khorasan province later the Queen of Iran made a royal visit to the Pashtun communities. It was first published in 1972 and then again in Western source of Norway in 1978 or 1976 can't remember but all I know is during hey days of American and Iran Afghan races were iqnored from the region as usually everything printed was pro-Iranian. LOL The number never changes but total of Pashtun population together with zabul was 139,000 we are talking 1972 source. Since then no other demographic data has came out nor from western NGO, and nor from Government of Iran. In fact I remember once talking to an Iranian who was working for embassy of Iran. That we share commonalities and that IRan even has PAshtun population the guy went "no we only have Balochi population there is no Pashtuns in Iran. Yes there are Afghan tribes who invaded Iran but they are mixed with IRanian and they are Persians now" Indeed I could of go on but he was just a racist Shia whom only a stupid person can argue with. So I left it there noticing that there is no way Iran would allow international NGO or even themselves to update population of Afghan Race living in Iran. They somehow tend to mix it with Refugees and then seperate some 100,000 to be called native.

The Hotakis who lost the war and pushed by Nader Shah settled in Mazandaran that was where they found protection. I can't say there are no Hotaks in Khorasan but for sure in Mazandaran.
The Pashtuns are native to Khorasan of IRan but many have been under pressure from Qajar as well as from later Governments many of them are still Sunni but lost their Pashtu language. The majority of them speak Dari now and so you can get to their tribal roots if you know them personally or ask them so. Otherwise its difficult to get access to Information from terrorist country like Iran. Contact Mullah Zada from his telvision and he will tell all about it. He told me there are 250,000 houses/families (That means an average of 5 person could mean at least 1 million persons) of Pashtun in Khorasan province alone so I wonder how truthful it maybe and he said that those living in the south ie anciant Kandahari administered areas such as Zabol were purely Pashtun population. And the he himselves have mixed Balochi and Pashtun blood.

As i said there are shalmani pashtuns in gelan,asfahan etc and they might mixed but the pashtun of south-kkhorasan province are still strong community but the racist shai persains never respect them .They face discirimnation .Many of them are still sunis.
In south khorasan province many still speak their language.
The persain civilization destroyed many cultures and languages.
