there are no records which suggest that pashtuns are isrealites. there are no records from pre and post islamic times. absolutely non. in mezghan e afghani, nematullah herawi mentions that according to some tribes they are the descendents of of isrealites. like yusufzai, son of joseph. how stupid and absurd is this theory. for all we know, when pashtuns became muslims they might have adopted arabic names like yusuf and thus the tribe was calle yusufzai. very simple explanation. we don't need those far fetched theories for something so simple. anyways, pashtuns say "esapzai" and not yusufzai. the name might very well be referring to something else.

there are many pashtuns who will claim to be "syeds" to gain more prestige. its not uncommon in muslim societies to claim holy lineage. there is alot of worldly gains in it. pashtuns are not all saints and angels. we have as much corrupt and sellouts as anyone. don't act surprised. BTW, not all tribes claimed isrealite descent, just a few and those too on shady grounds.

Can you give me any historical records. which talk about isrealite migration to afghanistan?

you dont back up your claims with evidence instead you accuse our ancesters of trying to win some fame by connecting themselves to israelites(jews condemned in the Quran).

there are many sources from torah to Ahadith which mention this.

never heard of such people who will claim to be sayeds and will get special treatment,thats just another one of those stories.

pashtuns are not all saints but compared to others they are in a much better position in that field.

we dont have as much sellouts as others around us,we have a culture which protects us from many of such things.

for records you need to check the migration root of the lost tribes and some ahadith and torah.

i dont rely on some british writer on this one.

Timbaktu - I hope you do realize that 'records' can be lost or become non-existent after 2000 odd years. All we have is indicators via somewhat similar practices, customs etc. And genetic research is still on. So I'd wait before proclaiming that Pashtuns with Israelite roots is stupid.

Sakas are usually Ghilzai tribes, people from the area of Pashtun lands you claim to be from are Indic peoples who got converted into Pashtuns by being forced to adopt the Pashto language when Pashtuns from my areas conquered your ancestors. alot of people that i know have extended family trees towards talut (saul) or so they tell me...and they are anti semite so i dont think they would lie about it...
