The key is literature. Pashto literature have been neglected and suppressed by the state. Poets and literature intellectuals have been inprisoned for the past 60 years. Only recently you see pashto literature having some freedom in KP.Originally posted by Idiot View PostIf the imams preached Pashtun pride, the people will get the idea, and fight for their land back. You can't have Pashto literature when their is no education, to learn, and go beyond the basics. In KP, you won't find Pashto being taught passed year 6, I belief. In Afghanistan, you don't even need to know Pashto to live your life.Originally posted by khushal View PostThe key is literature. Pashto literature have been neglected and suppressed by the state. You could live in KP, and if you only know Urdu, its all right. Same as Dari, in Afg.

Yes, but why teach pashto when their is no pashto literature. When you kill literature, you kill the language and the culture.Originally posted by Idiot View PostYou can't have Pashto literature when their is no education, to learn, and go beyond the basics. The farsibans have done a better job in preserving their literature. My father can recite way more poems in farsi than in pashto because the literature in farsi is so vast. My father told me he hated farsi at the beginning, he said to me when he fell in love with its poems, only then he made the effort to learn farsi. their has to be an incentive to teach pasho. Look at english, literature in english is more vast than any other language in the world. No other language comes even close to it.Last edited by khushal; 04-14-2011, 05:06 PM.

The reason why, in America you take English courses from 5-18, then also in college.Originally posted by khushal View PostYes, but why teach pashto when their is no pashto literature. When you kill literature, you kill the language and the culture.

I like esapxai idea of something like a EU partnership. Where Pashtuns get their nation so they can approve their plight, and Parsiwaans, Punjabi's their own. Also Baluch give them their nation so they can approve it. Once we approve, think of merging nations. We can compete with India, and china then.
Btw, this can happen, if you think positively!

These guys don't understand. Were talking about national inspirations, their talking about EU. You need intellectuals, intellectuals are moved by literature, literature is the key.Originally posted by Timbaktuwell in pashtun areas of AFG the medium of education is pashto upto secondary level and even in some colleges. The problem is shortage of material in pashto not the demand. In KP the problem is that everything is available in Urdu and English so poeple don't need pashto books of science and geography and so on. The advancement of pashto is dependent on its active usage in all spheres of life and I think pashtun areas of Afghanistan will be the ones who will use it most. I have studied in peshawar and pashto is totally absent from education system and official documents. In Afghanistan pashto is at least used in official documents such as ID cards, bank notes and such. Our Kp brothers are in a hard situation where if they ask for their rights they are branded as anti pakistani and muslim unity.
The EU model is inferior to the Pan Islamic federation model. I guess these guys a fan of secular models even though they are inferior.

i have to agree and disagree with alot of you especially when it comes to Pashto language.
I think pashto is doing good but not excelent
In Afghanistan we have the military commands, the military ranks in Pashto.the governmental posts, writing on the currency is Pashto, our national anthem is pashto,
we have Poetry sessions such as naranj gul, anar gul etc where pashto is celeberated in Form of poetry.pashto poetry has reached a a high level.offcourse we also have some Pashto tv channels as well local as,national,or international.there are Pashto Universities colleges and schools but not enough and certainly not enough school learning material in Pashto language.
pukhtun culture is the main factor in Afghanistan from clothing to social interaction,
the reason Pashto which is the official language of the country and spoken by Majority still doesnt have enough impact is because we Pushtane dont promote pashto enough or good enough. Many factors play a role, but the first one is the governement which doesnt promote Pashto enough.the second one is the people who dont promote it well enough or dont have the means such as media(tv radio, news papers, magazines),or the material(school/university books in pashto, medical books etc).Third one is the war which has them preoccupied so they are thinking about survivng rather than promoting Pashto.
We shouldnt feel threatend from other languages such as dari or urdu (both of which i can speak and read) instead we should work on promoting Pashto.

You didn't understand, what I meant about EU, I also didn't make myself clear either. I have to write an essay to fully explain myself, for know its something along the lines as giving each people their own land, to build. The current model of Afg/Pak is obviously a failure.Originally posted by khushal View PostThese guys don't understand. Were talking about national inspirations, their talking about EU. Pan islamic model? What is meant about that. Muslims are supposed to be united, and one people, but last I check their is around 50 separate nations which are predominately Muslim.

Its basically a federation of nations, like the US is a federation of states.Originally posted by Idiot View PostYou didn't understand, what I meant about EU, I also didn't make myself clear either. That's what I meant, I said EU as it's pretty similar to a federation of nations. I would love it for north Africa to southeast Asia to become like this, will it happen? Yes and no.Originally posted by khushal View PostIts basically a federation of nations, like the US is a federation of states.
Yes, if people from their own ethnicity rebuild themselves, then work with their neighbors, the nations can turn into states/provinces.
No, is they still keep the mind state that they are in.

You pretty much admitted that you are a hitler by calling me a jew and telling me to leave the forum because I don't belong to your race.
Then you try to slander me in half of your post, so whose nerve got hit, B?
Anyway, I still don't get what pakistani pashtuns want.
You want to break up Afghanistan, separate the 50% pashtuns from the rest, like the way Jinnah separated muslims from hindus in india? And how do you imagine you are going to do all that? And where is the rest going to go? You want to give Herat to Iran, Mazar e Sharif to Uzbekistan, Meymana to Turkmenistan, Badakhshan to Tajikistan ...and take the rest and join it to khyber? All this for the sake of FATA which has a rural population of only 4 million? or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa?
Whatever all you guys say, the reality is that the Taliban in Pakistan coordinate themselves with the Taliban in AFghanistan - so really the leadership is in Afghanistan. Those mujahids don't come here on the forum and spit whatever nonsense ...they probably don't even care if it is loy Afghanistan or Loy Pashtunistan...and Alhamdullilah, their mentality is nothing like yours. If anything, they would most likely make arabic a mandatory language since it is the language of the Quran. And since the constitution of Pakistan and Afghanistan says that it cannot contradict the Qur'an, then practically speaking, all lawyers will have to be ulama of fiqh. This is why most of farsi is actually arabic and why the courts were based on dari, since it was closer to arabic. This is the bitter reality that most of you can't seem to deal with, so you come here to live out your fantasies.Last edited by Alchemist; 04-14-2011, 05:46 PM.
