I have been doing reading on this guy and I am wondering why he was never put on trial for atrocites commited against afghan civilians especially in Kabul. I think he may have been exiled for a while, but that didn't really seem like much of a punishment. I think he may be part of Karzai's cabinet now. Why is this?

this guy is the biggest murderer hypocrite in the history of afghanistan,maybe in the history of the world.

he is not persecuted cuz he is buddies with karzai and he has a support in uzbek community and has a militia .

Dostom was committing crimes with the blessing of the American Leadership. There was mass killing and other war crimes committed by this man in front of american troops. Why should he be punished, his crimes were against pashtuns. The war crime tribunal is a joke. only people that used to be american assets and no longer serve that purpose are tried at the tribunal. When Dostom no longer serves americans interests, only then you will see him tried at the tribunal and ordinary americans asking why did the afghans support such an evil person.

I was thinking the same thing. He is working with the u.s. and is protected by them. When he is no longer useful to them they will probably put him on trial and reveal all his crimes and portray themselves as the heros.

If you look at Saddam Husain's trial, he was never tried for crimes that had Amercian or british hands tied to those crimes. He was tried for crimes that were mediocre compare to the real crimes he committed with the help of british and american governments.

it happend in herath right after the taliban government fell.
in the name of taliban fighters he rounded up every pukhtun he could get his hands on.

the guy who told me is not pukhtun he is farsiwaan.
they surrouded the school and killed the students cuz they were pukhtun.
