I just caught this now by searching back -
this IS a problem how very useful posts get tucked away
where no one will see them
Wish there were a remedy for that!

I was on the edge of my cushion watching.
Very helpful find, even though it's certainly not conclusive
and it's difficult to discern too much.

Still: some footage is better than nothing
to analyze the situation in that area.

I didn't realize at all about that particular highway from Tajikistan south.

I was amazed what a good surface the road had.
Wonder who built it and when.

Actually I was surprised that they let him stay that long
I didn't like the guy's face - maybe the name was unpleasant,
combining to yield a bad impression.
He did not look a spy especially
but neither did he seem a person of good character.

I thought Commander Mirwais was very tolerant, and
true to values, he gave the cameraman safe passage away.

What did you think GYE ? Or anyone?

I saw this when it first came out last febraury. I didn't like the A rab, and Pakistani guy who was making trouble to the native commander. If he said it was okay for the journalist to stay, those two should keep their mouths shut. Def, the stupid A rab.

Towards the end. Mirwais says that they are two people who just came from Pakistan. And they have a problem with the journalist. And, they might get Mirwais in trouble. He said one was Pakistani, the other A rab.

like i said ,there is no proof there was an arab or someone coming from pakistan.
the person in the background spoke the same dialect as the commander and the rest.but if you listen clearly there is a man who is saying to the reporters something like "journalist saib why are you recording us all the time when we sleep or eat" the journalist "so what do i have to say"the man "if we go to a fight next time are you going to go with us?the journalist yes i did go last time with you"the man "but this time would be carrying a weapon or raket" the journalist " my camera is my weapon" the man "no than that wont happen"

so he probably asked mirwais to get him out not osme arab or someone flying frompakistan to north afghanistan.

He should have still stayed. If he is the commander of 3,000 fighters, he shoulda told that one to keep himself at bay. Mr. Malaquf, and araf didint seem to have a problem with the journalist.

The journalist alsomhas a documentary for PBS, about Bacha Bazi, its real good. I suggest you to check it out.

he is a good journalist but we should think critical.
no matter how good a journalist is evidence is necessary.

Have you seen the Emirates footage of overruning the American base in Kamdesh?
The cameraman also gets killed. It's pretty dangerous to be with them, so you have to respect the people who actually stay.

i actually have much respect for this journalist and journalism.
we have to understand he is not always the editor.
you also hear another peaker through the whole doc tying to tell us what we see.

                            GYE,
you are speaking of the journalist in the Emirates video, whatever that is?

[Idiot could you post that, if it has not been already? I never saw it]

It IS true that PBS puts a decided spin on their commentary.
In that first Frontline series it was especially annoying, I felt.

Well you guys know: the pic of the 2 guys supposedly from Pakistan was taken from their backs. One looked like a Pashtun perhaps, the other ?

I find all the alleged links to "Al-Qaeda" WAY WAY WAY TOO
convenient to fit the party line.

When I hear those showcased - notice how prominent the mention was made - as a cue for Idiot to pop in with his
                            "O Really?" - !
