Fascinating about the KFR - even illiterates will understand - amazing, I like that!

About Pashtuns' effortless ability to detect sincerity of souls,
what do you ascribe this to exactly - I see it as a transparency of soul themselves which lends this ability.
But I am quite interested to figure it out more in detail.

Have any ideas, babo, since u and I seem to be the only ones who are on this same wavelength regarding these types of things?

I could talk about this all day, as it's lots of fun!

^^^ They tried the same tactic in Egypt, Tunisia and my mother's homeland, Yemen.
those make for sad examples of the type of a system that i am talking about...

Now look at what's happened? You can't impose stuff on people if what it really amounts to is Imperial rubbish.

well they didn't try hard enough. if peace, prosperity and veracity are the things that people are after and they are provided with all those, then why would they not be happy?? people get frustrated with the government when they are cheated by the system and if the system does as it promises then i don't see why it shouldn't work out for everyone. the government should be strong enough and have a firm grip on people and their actions as to prevent any types of risings that are due to selfish demands of a bunch of lunatics who just want a bigger piece of the cake. as long as they don't come up with ridiculous laws like the taliban did, i don't see what else there is which needs to be imposed on the afghans asides from a pinch of some decency here and there..

You're right though we gave these Imperialists all the incentive in the world, we refused and resisted their degeneracy which they have infected a good deal of our populace with, how could we? Had we only complied and conformed like good subservient brown skinned men such as the Hindus and Sikhs, we'd have been much better off.

I mean look at India? the world's "largest thriving" democracy, a bastion of cheap labor for capitalist industry, good place for outsourced call centers and a favorite destination for sex tourists. If we could only mimic their "progress", think of how better off we would be?

by progress i meant just the fundamental aspects of it such as education and agriculture...not mimicking india. no offense to them but we are not indians. why must something that works out for them work out for us too??

          Not.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

on a totally different note here...
very typical of an angreez such as catya sher to be drooling over the physical appearance of pashtun men..as a matter of fact, that is all that she does 90% of the time..but how deceptive of babo to join her along with it...
correct me if i am wrong babo, but aren't you the one who simply approved of the taliban stoning individuals who were convected of having committed to adultery due to it being an immoral act??
i am sorry but could you be kind enough to point out the part where you drooling over some deceased na mahram man's looks becomes acceptable so i can join you along with it..?? please..?

DZJ, Punishing by stoning is a verified Law for married individuals who commit adultery, even as I disagreed with Babo regarding the way the Taliban applied the Law, the Law itself has never had any implications of it's amendment. Of course there are very stringent protocals which must be carried out before it can be applied (something Taliban do not do), it is a law that is within Islam, whether you like it or not and yes it's meant to be carried out by humans, not God, God doesn't need to yarajoum (stone) anyone.

There is perhaps a moratorium which is possible based on the fact that people have not learned it's correct application; something Thinkers like Tariq Ramadan advocate, and I do as well in context, but we cannot nor will it be struck from the books.

DZJ, get your mind out of the gutter. not everyone thinks like mainstream people affected by devils.

we are discussing the purity and sincerity of their looks, as one does of a highly spiritual person or a prophet. rasulullah (saw) himself had a face which emitted light like the moon and many ashaab would not look at him directly due to his beauty.

its not swooning in a perverted or sick form. many of the men in this thread, too said he was handsome, beautiful, dashing, etc.

so again, try thinking in more spiritual terms next time--the way one would view and admire a very holy person and his positive aura.

                    spiritual my foot....
i would have liked knowing more about him and his accomplishments rather than the color of his eyes or his ever so handsomeness. God bless his soul, i don't think that is what he would have wanted himself to be remembered as. if so, he would have become a poster boy for beauty-shots rather than a shaheed so people could see his pictures on pretty frames hanging from the walls once he was dead...
don't justify your own idiocy by comparing yourself with the men in here. complied by a man or a woman, a wrong is no lesser than wrong itself.

i think your mind is still in the gutter. if i was swooning over a blessed martyr in the wrong way (astaghfirullah) and was a sick-minded individual i would have been participating in all of the futile, low-minded threads in the hujra or fashion section. the point was simply, because me and catya are female, you decided to attack us for complimenting the beauty Allah (Swt) himself created and blessed him with. what about all of the other men that complimented his physical appearance? we all did so with a pure heart and mind, there were no immoral connotations if that is what you are trying to get at. the taliban themselves compliment shaheedan with their beauty. to us, the reason they are so beautiful stems from their shahadat/noble deeds.

isn't eye color an attribute Allah (swt) created and caused to be something admirable to the human eye? but in their case, it is the noor in their eyes combined with the sharp colors which cause admiration of some of Allah (swt)'s creation and how He (swt) decided to create them.

load of crap sweetheart, load of crap...i don't want to go over my reasons for disliking you or catya here as it's not the time or place but i will retreat at this point since you and Edge seem to have some beef going on that perhaps needs to be sorted out and i would hate for it to seem like i am ganging up along with him on you or something...so i guess, some other time, some other place..

There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

since Babo felt the need to reply beneath you I can't do one of these ^^^^ in response.

I'm a bit perplexed by what you mean by not try hard enough? You mean not pryas many nails off of people, not as many secret executions. sudden disappearances?

Not only was this done by Egypt, Iraq, Yemen it was even done in Afghanistan in the 80's; remember KHaD.

Now your demarcation line is " people get frustrated with their government when they get cheated by the system"; the conundrum is that people generally feel cheated by a system which mandates ripping nails off or worse on account of not complying to the party line. We're not talking about intrinsic moral standards which are against the functioning of society; but people who rise up against their government for their incompetence, which is usually the case. All what such governments need is the excuse you gave them "Oh those selfish cretins trying to corrupt our system, aren't they thinking of the National interests?" Men like Mubarak had similar lines of thought, he thought that cow-towing to the U.S. and Israel was better for Egypt. I mean he had some degree of reason, Billions in AID, economic opportunities galore, massive tourist industry with all the fix'ns (I mean that in the crudest way possible), with Hotels with Bars, a small sex tourism industry as a result, a generation of young Egyptian girls raised to disregard their sanctity, dignity and to believe her freedom and betterment comes from degrading herself so she can keep up with her American/European counterparts, Sattelite TV beamed into Egypts cafes and men brainwashed to worship Blond Haired Bimbos on Baywatch, Egypt has some of the best Research Producing Universities in the Middle East, the Nile produces abundance of cotton and crops. Granted some of these concerns may seem outwardly trivial but they're threads in a fabric. To the Mubarak Regime, the people who are rising up against him are "selfish" as all of what I have mentioned could potentially be jeopordized I mean who wants to advance science for a bunch of riled up Muslims? When in reality all these people protesting want is the dignity they had before they were colonized by the British/French not that long ago.

I wasn't trying to insinuate that you want people to emulate India or Pakistan; but I was making a tongue in cheek remark about what happens when we don't as you would put it "give imperialists the excuse". The only excuse NATO/Europe/America understand is that when they said "Jump" , we refused to say "how high". Where as a country such as India has said "would you like me to jump some more, I can jump really high, just tell me what to do so I can make you happy".

My point being the paradigm of the Global Status quo is not in the favor of those who refuse to conform and that is what governs the "apparencies" of progress as it's demarcated and diverted the global resource pool under their dictates. Look at Iran, they pretty much had all the amenities most Western societies had, the minute they threw out their dictator, that all vanished. How could all of that just disappear? It wasn't because the Iranians or their Religious Autocracy expelled it, it was because now all the things they were using were cut off. This isn't an attempt to validate their Walayah Faqih regime, just to demonstrate what controls "Progress" and what doesn't.
